Glad I got mine pre-ordered for the PS3 then... No worries about getting jammed in the early going. :banghead:

Roughly 54,000 people have signed the online petition for dedicated servers on the PC side.
I forget the number but the amount of cancelled preorders is about half of that so far. There arn't to many preorders for the PC in general because it hasn't come up on steam yet.
My buddies and me have already said we're not buying it now and a couple have canned their preorders at gamestop. This whole situation is lol funny. Its going to be bigger then that L4D boycott thing.

This means people will have to live on the company's servers and play by their specified rules (they can kick you from a game at any time, etc.) which is a huge no-no for those who buy their own servers.Comment

From what I understand, the company's trying to convert their online base on PC into something more like the console online community...

This is taken away from the PC players and is one of the bigger reasons why PC FPS > Console FPS.
Lag is a huge thing here too. Everyone who plays on the console side of things knows what it's like during launch week of a big console titles.......laggy as fuck online service with plenty of disconnects.
If you had your own server with you and 20 or so friends, you don't have that problem.Comment

Now that the game's earned its Hitler video, the overreaction/justified uproar is in full swing.
COD: MW2 = Madden as far as stupid game development decisions go? Maybe.
Most of us will still get the game anyway.Comment

There is also a huge amount of of server side support when it comes to modding and such. You guys have your controller glitch which on the PC side would of been stopped altogether.

Your arguement is insanely wrong.

Another quick thing to throw in.
Outside of lack of modding (which honestly I'm sure someone will find a way around it) and the whole wanting your own server issue. The competitive community is fucked. You simply cannot have some guy act as a host on either team and expect to have a fair matchup. There is also the issue of anti cheat during these matches and other little things such as screen shot validation and demo's. Demo's are basically replays of the matches. According to the podcast it is unknown if demo support is even in the game.
When you have massive leagues live CEVO, CAL, TWL ect ect on the PC and your basically saying to them yeah you have to do private matches like this your seriously shooting yourself in the foot.
For the most part you console guys really won't understand why this is such a big deal. I could show you how COD4 is on our side just to show you the difference if you really cared lol.

Do you have stats on how many more people on the PC donate than the people on xbox live? I am not even a xbox Lifer but even that is an insanely general argument.
I don't give a crap either way, I used to be a PC gamer up until I was 22 and realized how much it wasted my time. I turned to consoles cuz of simplicity and I wouldn't have to waste my time and money upgrading a PC every 6 months. Now I have more time to be more aware of more important things that affect my life, such as work, women, beer, cars, politics.....you know the world!
Thats my choice, my opinion........I guess the PC guys really need their precious servers.
