It's just a franchise mode with all teams being user controlled.

        there was a couple options

        you could

        1) share the franchise file around. so load up, play your game, save and pass the file along. or one guy hosts the chise and spawns games for people to play.

        2) when you play a madden game on PC, the game creates a stat log text file. some guys had created tools that would read those files and would then post them up on a site. similar to something like league daddy. this was the more popular way to do things.

only NHL had actual online leagues (the way they should be) on PC.

I'm feeling like a really want to speak up here, I have good and bad to say, I wish I could be blunt and just lay it out there, but this is not an official announcement so I feel like my hands are tied for now.

Crazy thing is, I'm not 100% sure even the other CD guys are aware of what's going on this weekend. Josh Looman came to me with a few specific questions not too long ago (I'm actually partially responsible for a bug that is shipping with the game , but I feel I made the right choice) so I got some dirt on E3. The reason being, just as Anthony White was working with LBzrule right up until data freeze, and Michael Young was following Kane closely on OS, Looman is the franchise guy and that was kinda my reason for being invited to CD, so some of us stayed involved right up until that point. I think we've all been kinda cut off for 2 weeks (which coincides with that first true gameplay vid that came out yesterday).

Let me put it this way... there was some suit involvement here that made things what they are, and there the devs were forced to make a very difficult choice. I believe they made the right choice, but there will be some negativity over it.

While there are some cool things going on online, there's gonna be some people throwing out the old "typical EA" lines, and to a certain extent it's justifiable to think that, but the reason for this is precisely the opposite.

Same. I get excited each year and get a sub-par game. So I'll just wait. I will be getting the game either way though.

This sounds like im going to have to pay for something lol. Its pretty hard to mess up an online franchise I hope. Make it the same as offline with draftboards and live drafts at the same time. Free agents can happen over a set time decided by the comish. Now you scare me borski, I can only imagine what they have cooked up for us. 7 man online franchise, pay for alternate unis online, pay for online franchise, pay for roster updates. I can think of 40 things you could be talking about. Maybe your joking with us

                            Same here

anyway, if this is implemented decently, re playability will skyrocket.

I'm just hoping for lag-free online play this year. Online franchises don't really interest me for the simple fact that offline franchises have never interested me. I have never liked the whole offseason part of video game football. I don't want to worry about budgets, salary cap, free agents, stadium maintenance, attendance, drafts/recruits, or progression of players.

I realize I'm in the extreme minority, but I just want to play football and only want solid gameplay. I only play head to head or online, but I still hope all of you franchise/dynasty guys get what you want this year...it's just that none of it matters to me personally.
