9.0 Presentation
Polished and impeccable; The Sims 3 shines like a AAA game should. It even packs the trademark Maxis humor we’ve come to expect, even though it was designed outside of Maxis.
8.5 Graphics
The graphics aren’t a revolution, nor are they a particularly huge step up from The Sims 2, but they still deliver a believable and pleasing world to live in.
8.0 Sound
The sims still speak simlish, and there’s still a large variety of happy tunes playing in the background.
8.5 Gameplay
The bigger scope of the game is completely liberating and refreshing, while the core remains relatively unchanged. We’d have like to see more innovation, but we’ll take what we get thus far.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
The past 10 years have us that The Sims have incredible legs. There’s a huge amount of content in here, and that’s before you even try to make movies or download new items from the online store.
8.9
Great OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

It's still 'The Sims' through and through. If you've never liked the game before you certainly won't be changing your mind. I haven't really explored too much outside of my sim's home yet.
I went to the city pool and met some chick and then found out she was rich.
I chatted her up and eventually got her pregnant and married her. Once I married her I was able to kick her parents out of their house and move in so now I got this sweet big ass mansion :D
Occasionally you'll get 'opportunities' and those are probably the most annoying so far, I got one where I was supposed to talk to this guy but he was in someone else's house... So I'd go and knock on the door but couldn't get them to invite me in.
If I tried to walk in then some chick came running to the door and we'd both end up out on the porch talking when I'm supposed to be talking to the guy inside.
I eventually just said fuck it and gave up on him.
It's fun though. Like I said... It's The Sims through and through. If you liked the other games you'll like 3.

Console Sims has always been shitty in my opinion anyways, the PC versions are the only "true Sims" games.
