If you're looking for a cheap car that will be able to get you through a lot of series in the professional/expert range get the Viper SRT10. For 100,000 I think it's a bargain. Put in an extra 50,000 or so tuning with some racing tires and that thing is a beast. I won the supercar challenge and the Gran Turismo tournament with it no problem. If I knew how to post screenshots of cars I would. I love that car.

My dads a big fan of cars and he loved the GT series for the PS2 so I plan on picking this up for him for Christmas.

I didn't find it that hard

I golded the first 3 right away, the last one at IMS took 3-4 tries. Don't brake, lift of the throttle a little through the turn, and gun it as soon as you can.

I think having the PDP trigger extenders is a huge help when it comes to throttle control

edit: Also, stay in 3rd gear, just let it redline.

I forgot earlier today I was using a stock 73 or 74 Skyline for the Japanese beginner race, and it was pretty tough.

Coming down the straight on the last lap the 2nd place car was gaining fast so I started toying with him to block him and he spun out without me even touching him :laugh:

Years of playing NASCAR games has made the Jeff Gordon challenges pretty easy for me. The last kart race took me FOREVER.

So I expected to get some stiff competition in the LVL 18 Japanese Championship (race cars and shit) so I spent a lot of money upgrading my GTR Black Mask only to totally smoke what looked like stock accords and Lancers etc. WTF??

Well I just banged through the intermediate NASCAR events...the last 2 were very easy. The only one for some reason took me like 20-30 tries was the inside driving.
