1) Online Chise mode
2) Stretch ratings, doing this manually is not fun but it's something I toyed with on PC versions and it vastly improved the experience
3) Sliders are back to help customize the game so I can adjust it to provide sim with my own skill set even further than last year
4) Franchise re-done. Offline franchise finally appears to not be a giant bag of shit. I don't need to to blow me away, I just need to to fucking function somewhat normally, and it appears it will.
5) Presentation finally looks legit with all the minor touches added, the overlays and display seem to have diverted from that gaudy shit in 09 to something you'd see on TV.
6) Game speed adjustment

All these items are big for me with this game.


For the record, I didn't hate 09, I play it off and on, it is an alright game.

The stretched ratings won't mean a thing if they still have Madden IQ. Constantly adjusting the difficulty level mid-game makes sense in a role-playing game, but all it does on a football field is make the ratings useless. If you have a great QB playing great football (possible Madden-ism), the defense will in turn react to this and be more challenging, and thus, your QB will no longer be all that great. If you have a RB having an off day in the first half, not to worry, because the game is about to get easier.

Slumps/great games is mainly what football is about, and more importantly, it's why certain players ARE good and why others are not. The Madden IQ - although a good idea on paper - takes the ratings right out the window.

I won't be picking up Madden 10 on release day, I'm gonna be renting it first (used to always buy it on release day as well and had every Madden since '97). It's sad it came to this point, but hopefully things are looking up and I can happily jump back on the bandwagon next year.

gamestop...will trade in UFC, NCAA09, COD4/WAW and some other shit just to get Madden a lil bit cheaper.

Gamestop is having a trade in for FN4....3 select games for FN4. Two of the titles you mentioned are know are on the list of acceptable games. Most people who don't want FN4 but want to take advantage of this trade are saying to get FN4 and don't open it and save receipt....you can take it back for another game within 30 days.

Now I doubt anyone would do this but it is possible.....get FN4 by the trade in offer now (by JULY 12th).....go take FN4 w/ receipt (gift receipt) within 30 days. Once again don't open that game ....go back with it and get store credit to buy Madden.

You can't just trade in FN4 for Madden because the deal ends 7/12 and Madden comes out 8/14....just outside the 30 days allowed for returns/exchanges. Yeah it's alot of work but you can get Madden for mad cheap.....I traded in 3 games that I paid $32 (Target clearance) for FN4 for the PS3 but I'm keeping it.

edit: I should say that if you are a "regular" it helps since the GS will let this slide. The deal is for FN4 ...not flip a game 2x for Madden (ha). It is taking advantage of the system, so if you are uncomfortable doing this....buy it somwhere else, so you don't feel bad.

I'll buy madden when I get someone credible to say it's worth buying. The only games I buy on first day are games which I have high expectations for.
