Reggie Bush celebrates in da club after win over Eagles. Photo courtesy tmz.com
Bush leads Saints to win
Izzy (New Orleans) 30 Dave (Philadelphia) 22
All-Madden, 6 minutes
Game recap:
Eagles' quarterback Donovan McNabb went down with a game-ending injury on the first series of the game while, not so surprisingly, throwing an interception. From that point on, it was all Saints ... or was it?
In his first action of the season, backup QB Kevin Kolb proved to be a true warrior. Down 27-7 at one point, the Eagles clawed all the way back to 30-22 thanks to 2 TD throws by Kolb. The Eagles never quit in this one, despite the fact that their coach left the field after the McNabb injury and plunged head-first into a keg of beer.
"I have no clue where the fuckface went," said Eagles' assistant coach Bart (Dave's cat). "I'd like to say it's not like him to disappear in a drunken haze, but I'd be lying."
That said, the assistant coach did a nice job at least trying to compete in this one with the 68-rated backup QB.
Saints played good on both sides of the ball, but their special teams need serious work. KR Desean Jackson had 7 KR for 298 yds including a 103-yd touchdown.
Reggie Bush was the story for New Orleans, doing his best to be like Brian Westbrook, gaining 91 yards on the ground and 35 in the air.
Scouting report on Izzy:
A) Loves the corner pass deep. You must account for it.
B) He was trying to be the first guy to get 100-yds rushing on me ... so I think it altered his offensive gameplan somewhat.
C) Zone D is his primary pass defence.
D) Blitzes a lot and the Eagles' O-Line did not respond.
E) Knew about coach Dave's penchant for throwing in the middle of the field and covered it accordingly.
F) An absolute retard on the sticks on special teams. Should go get a pop or whatever it is he drinks after every kickoff and just let the CPU handle it for him. :D
Note:
Izzy could have tried for one more TD near the end of the game, but let the clock run out. Very rare for coach Izzy, but much appreciated by coach Dave. The Eagles worked their ass off just to make this a game after McNabb went down. A cheap late TD would have pissed coach Dave off.
Note 2:
Coach Dave no longer lacks confidence in Kevin Kolb. While Kolb will never take McNabb's job this year, the Eagles know Kolb can do the job if necessary. As always, Michael Vick will only become the Eagles' #2 QB if he's the #2 in real life.
Player stats:
Kolb 10-18 179 2-1

Nate Washington rests after miraculous play for Tennessee Titans.
Titans' QB Collins avoids sack, throws miraculous pass to set up OT win
BossAZ (Titans) 13 Dave (Eagles) 10 OT
All-Madden, 6 mins
Game recap:
An unbelieveable 33-yard reception by Titans' Nate Washington set up the game-tying field goal which eventually led to a 13-10 Tennessee Titans' overtime win.
On the play, the Eagles had Titans' QB Kerry Collins sacked, but he somehow evaded the sack and made the improbable throw.
Of course the Titans won the OT coin toss and did enough to kick the game winning FG.
The Titans' run D was the best the Eagles have faced by a wide margin this season.
"I think that fag BossAz knew when I was running because we live so close together," said Eagles' head coach Dave, after the game.
Titans' RB Chris Johnson had the first 100-yard + game vs. the Eagles all season, though it was only because of a 97-yard run from the 3-yard line in the 1st half. Eagles' D did a good job on him otherwise.
Funny thing about that big rush TD - coach Dave called 46 outside rush and Johnson rushed outside. Damn.
Eagles simply didn't capitalize on turnovers and played way too conservatively on offence.
"Next game, fuck it," said coach Dave. "Boss AZ's run D played a great game. I refuse to let his run D dictate our next game. He better hope like hell his defensive backs are healthy for our next game."
Eagles have nothing to apologize for in this game other than being too conservative on offence.
Scouting report on BossAZ:
A) As noted, his run D is unreal. I can't remember the last time I've ever been stopped like this when I've concentrated on the run.
B) Plays more man D than expected
C) Focus of offence, understandably, is Johnson. But he will use White every so often to try and be sim.
D) His pass O weak and can be exploited with blitzes. Never ever play 4-3 in 2nd and long situations or you put a LB on Johnson in pass.
E) A fine player on both sides of the ball and uses the hitstick religiously.
Player stats:
McNabb 12-22 214 1-1

GG Dave. Like I said, Your D is very solid. Almost everyone plays the same that it really caught me off guard. Not like my passing is any good or anything but I was making throws too late. That Washington catch was sweet. Collins is a beast.
Sidenote - Wooo 1st 100 rusher and he almost did it on one play alone.Comment

I refuse to do that shit.
I play for a great game, not a W.
Hate me however you want, haters, but at the end of my games ... my opponents cry "Oh God, I wish I could plays guys like Dave every game." and it's not just because they won ... it's because they just got an NCAA game greatness score.
Same reason why I love Krulmichael (non-sexually). When I play him, I know I am in for a sim game where every pass isn't five yards or under. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Portis runs wild
Quietstorm (Redskins) 24 Dave (Eagles) 6
All-Madden, 6 mins
Game recap:
WASHINGTON - Clinton Portis ran wild on the Eagles to lead his Washington Redskins to a convincing 24-6 win over Philadelphia.
From his first carry of the game - a 70-yard TD - you knew bad things were going to happen in this game. Portis had 145 yards rushing on 17 carries and was a beast in this game.
The score really wasn't indicative of how good this game was. A late hitstick fumble by Desean Jackson on a punt return gave Washington a late TD. After the game, Jackson felt bad about the poor judgement deciding to return the punt rather than call for the fair catch. "We were down 17-6, I wanted to make something happen. Plus that stupid coach of mine told me to," Jackson told a throng of reporters after the game.
Eagles' two fumbles killed them in this one. A fumble by Kevin Curtis early in the 3rd quarter was a sure challenge, but coach Dave lost his red flag on this one and mumbled somewhat strangely "I didn't want to challenge, because I didn't want the game to disconnect." Reporters were baffled by the statement, but are getting used to incoherent statements from the coach.
Redskins' coach Quietstorm felt vindication with the win. "I owed that fag Dave. How dare he bash yours truly in the power rankings. I took that scrub to the woodshed."
Scouting report on Quietstorm:
A) Very, very manual with Portis. It's one thing to control your runner, it's another to make him to do the funky chicken. I wasn't ready for it on the first run and prematurely tried to tackle him. Lesson learned. I AM NOT COMPLAINING. I am just saying be ready for Quietstorm's runner. Don't try to tackle prematurely.
B) Never uses 4WR or 5WR sets. Completely understandable, he wants to keep Cooley in the game. He might consider using some of those sets with "TE slot" formation sub ... just to add more routes/options.
C) Very solid on D and adjusted nicely in the second half to my pass game. To be fair, I was focusing too much on the middle of the field in this game, because outs are a bitch against zone.
D) Solid on the sticks defensively, not spectacular, but solid.
E) Hitstick, hitstick, hitstick ... always be wary of them vs QS.
Akers on a short leash:
I simply can't hit any FGs beyond 48 yards with Akers this year, even when I max out the meter. He missed a 53-yarder with full meter not manipulating the trajectory or wind.
From this point on, if I'm outside the 31-yard line, I'm going for it every time. I have to. It's a wasted series if I don't.
Challenges:
I declined to challenge Quietstorm early in the 3rd quarter because I consistently get disconnects with challenges. I'm not telling anyone to do the same, but be warned challenges are problematic vs. me, so you better think twice before using them. I won't use challenges until I know they're safe to use. Can't do anything, obviously, about the booth reviews.
Player stats:
McNabb 15-25 203 0-0

GG Dave.... Some funky plays in this game for sure. That INT with your DT was crazy, that MFer caught it with one hand. My DB's can't do anything like that....lol. I didn't go 4 or 5 wide because I don't trust my O-line, my RT sucks. That play when Curtis fumble should of been a user pick. Landry was in position to pick it off but it wouldn't let me jump. I was piss when Curtis came down with it and then he fumbled, I thought he was down though.
Edit: I just remember I did go 4 wide when I got that 25 yard gain with Marco Mitchell. I don't have a 5 wide set in my playbook.
That spin move with Portis was sick. You know I had to save that one.

That was the first game I saw a guy taken off the field in the cart.
Bunkley has Jerry Rice-like hands. LB Fire 2 for the motherfucking win.
I should have been a little more balanced in that game from a pass/run ratio, but I wasn't feeling it with my run game today ... and that BossAZ game really got in my head. My run game has never been shut down so effectively.
I really need to go back to my shotgun heavy offence, but I feel less sim using it. Same reason why I try to limit Westbrook's receptions. I could hit Westbrook all day and twice on Sunday if I wanted to abuse him ... but I would feel too guilty doing it.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Bronco Nagurski came out of his grave to say "great game, guys. That's how football is supposed to be played." He then followed up with "Dave, you fucking putz, quit throwing so many interceptions."
Jets' defence wins old-time battle
GangstaEStyle (Jets) 16 Dave (Eagles) 0
All-Madden, 6min
Game recap:
PHILADELPHIA - By far the most defensive Eagles' game this season, but one they'd like to forget.
"I am embarassed by my offence," said coach Dave. "That was disgraceful, letting a great defensive performance like that go to waste."
That said, it was also a brilliant defensive performance by Coach Gangsta's Jets, who cover the short pass better than any team the Eagles have faced this season.
Jets took a 9-0 lead into the half after a 56-yard FG by Jay Feely. Kerry Rhodes' 51-yd INT TD closed out the scoring.
Eagles' QB Donovan McNabb was bewildered throughout this one and his receivers dropped a few they shouldn't drop, but 3 INTs is 3 INTs and two of the three were legit. One, a pass to Maclin, McNabb swore was a catch but magically ended up in Calvin Pace's hands.
Scouting report on GangstaEStyle:
A) First and foremost - you should change your PS3 gamertag. Terrible. When I saw you in the room, the first thing I thought was "balla". Houtz vouched for him, so I gave him a shot. Other than the fact I lost, I'm glad I did. This guy is 100% str8, legit. I would play him 1,000 more times (hopefully with better results).
B) Ultra conservative on offence. He loves to pound the rock. Can get too predictable running the rock. He always runs to the left ... it's worse than a poker tell.
C) Uses all his receivers, but had trouble with my constant pressure. My guess is he doesn't play guys who play like I do on D very often. Rushing three guys is not my style.
D) On defence, he's first-rate in both areas of the game. His short pass defence was unreal in our game. Passes that are usually automatic, weren't. His run D was stifling.
E) Funny part about this guy though is he really isn't that manual a player. His schemes caused me way more headaches than anything he did manually. His hitstick was OK, but nothing he did manually made me worry. He just ran a great gameplan and didn't beat himself.
Game note:
Just a question for anyone - have you ever noticed the game not giving your guy a stat? The first play of the game, I hit an 18-yard catch to Jeremy Maclin (sadly, the highlight of my offence). Anyway, on his next catch, they said he had 1 catch for 10 yards. I was baffled.
