    Shootout tips?

Really when it comes down to it if you got the dekeing skills down when your coming down on a breakaway you need to know what your going to do before you do it.

Most of the time to you should only make like on or two dekes then go for it. Anything to fancy won't get you far.

I pull the ravin move almost all the time basically.

Backhand first, then onto the forhand. Usually because you have a better shot with your forhand.

You cannot use that move. I have the patent for it.

That is one move to use. I use it since my wrist show power/accuracy is 93/92 and my stick is curved so I have no back hand. But basically as leaf pointed out, you should basically know what you are going to be doing before you do it. Say I get the puck at my blue line. By their blue line I know what I am doing.

Depends also where you are coming from. If you are coming from the outside in, as in you get the puck closer to the boards and it isn't a direct shootout style shot, you can fake inside and pull it back to your forehand/backhand.

To much dekeing will just kill whatever move you are trying to do. Make one or two moves at most, but don't sit there and go back and forth.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Guy on my team who does the Ravin with a fake shot first, looks much better. ;) He also plays D when he's not on breakaways.

                My one friend does that.

I know lately I've been playing a lot of shootouts and I'm finding that the fake shot move really causes the goalies to go down and it looks cool as shit when you do it.

The datsyuk move which is pulling the puck back after pulling to your forehand works real well but its hard as hell to pull off.

I'm more of a backhand guy. The key really is to change body direction and deke at the same time. So I will be (right handed) skating at an angle towards the goalie's right then when i get really close I'll simultaneously change my skating angle to go right into the goalie whilst shifting the puck back hand and then burying it.

                  Alternatively ...

Wrap it up on the forehand behind your body then deke to the backhand and finish it. This one looks really hard but is actually quite easy. You don't always have enough time to do it though.
