PSN Is Back Up!

I'm afraid to touch my PS3 now.

It's not gonna matter dude. If it's fat it's going to have this error, it seems like. Anything that has something like this happen when it's not even connected to the internet, is clearly a HUGE problem.

I keep reading that shit, but that seems like total BS. Fine, it sucks to not be able to get onto PSN, but my system seems to be bricked. There's really no other reason why I shouldn't be able to play games offline.

I had the dreaded 80010514 error, which meant that the blu-ray reader is starting to die out. Hope this isn't the case for you.

This is insane if the systems are failing without being online. I'd be pretty upset if mine got it with MLB 10 dropping in 2 days. Luckily for me (so far) it isn't affecting the slim models.

It is reported on different media outlets that PS3 is down . It has created uproar for users that how long the downtime will go. The downtime did not go unnoticed as many users started leaving messages on the twitter.
According to the Sony official blog, the network is going through the maintenance and will be down for 60 minutes but did not say what time it will end.
Some users went further on twitter suggesting that it is cover up for the network being down without warning.

I'm still so confused about the network aspect. Why would that affect my offline PS3 that hasn't been ONLINE for over a month or more? Something isn't right here.

It's a conspiracy by Sony to make everyone go out and buy a Slim as all other models have been forced to fail. This is the ultimate conspiracy theory. Anyone else have any others?

LOL other forums are saying PSN got hacked, and that's the problem. In a nutshell: (Copied and Pasted)

You cannot log into PSN
Date is reset to either 12/31/1999 or 1/1/2000 depending on where you live
You cannot play any downloaded games, Blu-Ray discs, or PS1 games or you'll get 8001050F
Some slim models are not affected, but all phat models are
Any purchased game is reverted to the trial version
