look at this BS play. QB was clearly down on the play but do i get a review or even the option for a review? NOPE, half ends when i had time to call a TO and kick a FG

notice how nobody touched him when he hit the ground. I reviewed this play and can say 100% that he was down and sliding on the ground then the ball came out. The fact that i got no instant replay really bugs me

sorry for 3 posts in a row, but if u are thinking of getting this game be warned that if u thought it was shitty last year and didnt think it played well, then dont buy into the hype of people who posted reviews saying this game is such an improvement or a great game.

its not. its taken me 3 games to see the same BS crap that i disliked about it last year. There is some improvement in the run blocking and u will see some cool holes open up and downfield blocks. But overall, the cpu blocking is just as terrible as last year. If you have any interest in offline gaming the cpu plays the same cheesy game they have played for every. They get behind and robo QB kicks in so they can make there comeback. And when they score its generally on a quick drive of 3 plays or less and includes a big play. But unless the QB is in robo mode u will see them make stupid decisions all game. The CPU run game is still lacking as always. The defenders still make these super high jumps to swat passes and they seem to be able to rip the ball away whenever they feel like it. I am using protect the ball and conservative gameplan and still get fumbles all over the place.

i will never understand why EA cant make a game where u feel like u have played a realistic game of football. its 2010 and nfl2k5 was more realistic then anything EA has put out. Sure it was ugly, but at least u felt like u had an honest sim style game of football

Not to play devils advocate but the first pass play seemed like you drop back far since you where already in shotgun. On the second play, if you lose the ball before you're contacted isn't that a fumble? I am not sure of the college rules on that. Back to the first play. After a 3rd look at it -- man I see what you mean. I mean the RB didn't even have a chance and he was 5 yards off the ball to start. Those DE's for Alabama have some crazy rating thou. Hopefully these issues get patched up.

On the first play why do you keep dropping back? Your OL gave you a nice pocket to step up into and yet you seem content to keep dropping back and stand in place. You step up and that speed rush is neutralized.

The blocking is definately much improved. It's not perfect, but its leaps and bounds better than anything else EA has put out there.

u guys are right i did drop back when i should have stepped up, but when 2 guys dont touch one thats about as BS as it gets. i was harassed all game by pressure. some was good pressure where they made great blitz plays and thats gonna happen. But alot of it was stuff like this where guys are not getting blocked or even touched.

shit, i dont have to tell u guys cause your playing the game. u see this stuff cause i dont have a different game then u. i am just posting this for people who haven't spent their money yet. while i agree the blocking has been improved, i wont say its leaps and bounds improved.

If we were using player progression to show improvement here i would say moderate improvement of +1....maybe +2 at best....most coming on the run game side of things (except the option)

I bought this game for the first time in 3 years and I'm very happy with it thus far. Seeing a few too many pick 6's right now.

Played ND vs Ball Sate and won 48-0. Just on the easiest mode fucking around getting back in the groove.

Next game I played as Illinois at Iowa and lost 28-10. Iowa sustained some nice drives and my only score was on a pick 6.

The CPU needs some help running the ball via a sliders boost. The awareness needs to be upped as well as sometimes the DB's seem a little brain dead but over all it's solid and I'm happy with it.

Going to dig into dynasty a bit tomorrow night and re acclimate myself to that mode since it's been years. I'll wait for rosters and sliders and fire up a dynasty.

I'm already making plans on recruiting a speedy ass QB for ND to run the spread with...or I might go with the old school Holtz offense as well...

The game isn't perfect but from what I have seen/come across there are no game killers and it's patchable/sliderable.

I had 2 vs Ball State and 1 versus Iowa.

Also forgot to mention there aren't nearly enough stat overlays during the course of the game. I think In two games I saw two or three total.

Well the RT had no chance to get to the guy because he speed rushed right around him and would've taken himself out of the play if you had stepped up. Agreed though, the FB should've at least gotten a chip on him but he got caught up with the RT.

I think the big thing to remember is that these are COLLEGE players they are representing, they aren't going to always make the right read on who to block and what to do. Maynard, I know you remember the Purdue game last year when Mike Adams singlehandidly got Pryor murdered multiple times by choosing the wrong guy to block, or the USC game in 08 when Alex Boone double teamed a DE with Rehring leaving Clay Mathews with a clean shot to force Rey Rey's pick 6.

I'm not seeing this happen too often... it happens but i just deal with that.

Ive been messing around with Tommy Rees, or who I a assuming Tommy Rees is, and he is probably exactly what you are looking for in terms of speedy QB. He has like an 88 for speed and options work a hell of a lot better than with Crist.

Im not feeling the offense either. Ive always played my game in what I guess would be a pro style, I would run the ball then make short passes to set up the big play. The whole 5 wr sets with shotgun is a major adjustment for myself. I guess it will just take time.

And has anyone else noticed how strong streaks are? For either the CPU or myself it seems like if I run a 4 streaks play, im almost guaranteed 50+ yards.

I'll have to look into that. Crist was a stud fr me in the game I played but it was against Ball Sate. I have a feeling I might do some formation subs with Rees and put him in some I formation plays etc where I can utilize a power or speed option.

The base equipment for quite a few guys seems off too..mainly helmets(Crist, Floyd, Te'o, Smith, Rudolph come to mind) but once rosters are done I can tinker with that shit.

I don't mind the offense I just want some more speed at the QB position. The base offense is a definite change though. Since basically NCAA 2003 or so I've been running a pro style/WC offense. So it was a major change with all the shotgun stuff. Armando Allen was a beast for me though with like 124 yards.

On some lower difficulties yeah. Like I said there needs to be some slider adjustment and tweaking.
