NCAA 11 Impressions

i disagree with chadman. i think the game plays great, not perfect by any means but by far the best overall gameplay we have seen from EA. The DB route issue is not as bad as people make it sound. Its one flaw that people tend to focus on and u only hear about it from people who hate it. The people who dont have issue with it dont say anything so u never read the flip side.

it can be toned down and u can still get good coverage from the cpu. The only thing i havnt been able to tweak with sliders is the Punt and KO returns. The issue here is the lack of blocking and i think the big reason is u have players who cant block on your return teams

the progression issues i read about are the lack of kickers and the elusiveness of WR's. idk about either of these cause i havnt gone past season 1 yet. But people are just jacking up the kicking sliders to resolve the shitty kicker issue. Keep in mind that in year 1, bad bad kickers have made 50+ yarders against me. sliders fixed that real quick

Punt Return Middle is the only punt play you can get returns on. Punt Block too but for a different reason.

I think KO returns are fine though.

Game overall is ok. Some good things, some typical EA bs.

The progression and recruiting issues are said to be fixed with the upcoming tuner set. So we shall see.

I'm personally loving this game.

It's not perfect but it's a damn solid/good game.

I'd give it a strong B overall.

I'm really on the fence. I ahve a feeling NCAA will be a ton of fun because I actually enjoyed last years game. But on the other hand if I order it I probably won't get it until Wednesday or Thursday which only leaves a few days until Madden releases.

I'm holding out on these tuner files. The passing game is ugly right now, but if these tuners work, it can make this game VERY playable.

if you really want to play nfl then u should probably wait. But one thing to note is that if people are dumping this game for madden that the on field gameplay in madden is identical to ncaa. Madden is NCAA with NFL slapped on top of it

I would just rent it from Gamefly or Blockbuster for a week if I were you.
Once the NFL game drops, NCAA is a goner for me.'
