I was 47th in the world for one of the Batman predator challenges the first couple weeks it came out, which is a big deal for me since I usually suck at games. 497th now

On NCAA 06 I played a dynasty with my created Piqua Indians (The HS team from where I used to live in Ohio). This thread actually made me dig out my old notebook on the dynasty. I'm gonna go off on a tangent here... but thats because this dynasty was honestly my favorite video game memory ever. Everything lined up kind of like a fairy tale I guess. I didn't realize this at the time, but holy shit I took some detailed notes for a 13 year old.
Made them a cupcake (weakest team in the game, so shitty its not even funny my running back was 68 speed) and put them in the MAC. Built them up over 20 years and eventually made the move into the Big Ten. I was putting together conference titles but I would always slip up and lose a game or two which would knock me out of national championship contention.
I remember 2 teams vividly, hell I still have them both written down in a notebook, they were teams in consecutive years. The first year, I had an all senior starting lineup outside of my junior center, and I had a 99 ovr QB, 99 ovr RB, and my WR core went 98, 96, and 91 ovr with my TE being 99 with 91 speed. My defense was pretty young, but we blew everyone out of the water, just absolutely dominating them (I played on Heisman FWIW). Then came the Orange Bowl (at the time was the NC because it was the year before the NCG was established). Played Oklahoma. And my team just self destructed... tossed 2 pick-6's in the first quarter, and got down 28-0 at the half. Started to settle down and battle back, eventually narrowed it to 28-14, when I tossed another pick-6 and after that it was all over. I lost 45-17. Honestly the most dissapointed I've ever been after a video game.
So the next year, my offense revolved around my 92 ovr QB (he got an insane training boost) while my defense was playing lights out. We won the first 3 games easily, but then playing #2 Ohio State(I was ranked #6 at the time) my starter started off eratic and we got down 21-0 at the half. First play of the second half he got a broken ankle, out for 10 weeks. My backup was an 82 overall 5th year senior... pretty sure he was a 2* recruit I signed to fill up all my recruiting needs. He comes in and some stout defense along with a good running game leads us back... we won 27-24 on a FG as time expired. I played close games all year long, coming from down 10-0 with 39 seconds left to win 13-10 on the final play @ #6 Michigan. I still remember that shit... I was going insane and my mom was freaking out at all of the yelling.
Somehow we made it to the national championship against Oklahoma. First play from scrimmage... 80 yard touchdown pass for them. Oh shit, just like last year I'm thinking. But I put together a scoring drive, and then got down to business. Back and forth the game went, they would think they got the knockout punch but we kept staggering back and tying it up. Then, they were up 28-24 with a little over a minute to go and trying to run the clock out. I hit sticked them and forced a fumble, recovered it, and took it all the way back for a TD to take the lead. They tried to score but couldn't.... and we won it all.
Best video game experience ever. What it really makes me remember is how long its been since EA had a football game worth playing like that one. I stopped playing it after that, mostly because NCAA 07 came out, but also because that was the perfect way to end it.Comment

That reminds me of a similar situation. When we were kids my three best friends and I had a "league" in RBI Baseball 2 on the NES. That was before stat tracking so we used to keep all of the stas in a notebook as well. I think I ran with the O's back then and my one buddy used the Reds with Griffey (senior, not Junior, LOL). We had some epic games.
That same buddy and I met in the World Series. In one of the games I was up by one in the ninth inning and Pops (that's what he called Griffey Sr.) steps up with a man on second. He belts one and my biddy starts jumping up and down celebrating. Our two other friends are hotting and hollering as well. The ball ands up hitting off the top of the wall. The runner score but he had to settle for a single. I got out of the inning and won in extras.
I think the series went all seven and I came out the victor. Good times.Comment

Back about 10-15 years or so, I had the original World Series of Poker game for my computer. In order to get into the tournament, you had to turn your $500 into the $10,000 buy-in. The game was so realistic and had real life difficulty without any frills...
It took me almost 3 years, and probably 100-150 tries, but I finally beat it. The actual tournament had 1000 entrants, and you had to last for about 5 days of play. It was fucking crazy. I haven't touched it since then.
My other major accomplishment is getting every secret bonus objective for TIE Fighter and being in the Emperor's inner circle, with that bitchin tattoo on my arm. I played that game to death.Last edited by riley420; 07-25-2010, 01:02 PM.Comment

Why the fuck didn't the Marshall's just kill Marston right after Dutch died? Why wait 2 months? Why kill him in the 1st place? Why the hell did we have to play as his kid? Lame. Many other dumb choices just for the sake of appearing to have an epic moment.
Don't get me wrong though, I gave the game a 10 in my review. Game's fucking awesome, but if you just looked at the MAIN story, it wasn't that great.Last edited by Buzzman; 07-28-2010, 12:28 PM.Comment
