For those that care, feel free to check the Game Accomplishments thread for my final thoughts on this game. To sum it up it never really sucked me in like the previous two, a big reason why it took me so long to complete. I thought the overall gameplay was pretty standard and there weren't nearly enough of the cool bits to put it in that category of games that I'll probably always remember and cherish.
It was actually quite disappointing. I thought the best part was the nod to the previous games at the end.
Maybe I just expected too much. But when nearly everyone slobber on this game's dick and it was in development for so long, and it uses the name Bioshock, it was bound to happen.Last edited by Twigg4075; 05-29-2013, 07:47 PM.Comment

[SP]The ending proper was pretty simple, I thought. Multiple timelines exist, and the only way to ensure that destruction doesn't occur in any of them is to ensure that the "birth" of Comstock never occurs at the location of Booker's splinter. This is why, at least IMO, Booker is dead dead, regardless of the ending bit with the crying baby. All Booker's and all Comstock's had to die, because if even one Booker lives, a timeline with Comstock is still possible. I felt that this was all pretty well explained. There are definitely people that think Booker is still alive at the end, indicating that he has his chance to not make the same mistake and sacrifice his daughter for his debt. I don't think that there is a enough evidence to support this.
Equally (more?) interesting I feel, are things like why Elizabeth has her powers, which if I recall is one of the tidbits hidden in audio logs. I like the idea that because her pinky is severed in a portal and thus a part of her exists in multiple universes, she can open tears. It's explained very well in the game by the scientists and it's an awesome reveal at that part of the story.
I had some other thoughts back when I was fresh off of it, but it's cloudy now with too many games in between. I have been meaning to play it again, so maybe I'll give it another go and see if I notice anything else. Maybe on 1999 mode?[/SP]Comment

Really? It has great gameplay, great graphics, a great story, and a great location that it all takes place in. I may feel differently in a few days, but right now I'm having a hard time coming up with a game I've liked more than this one. It also doesn't botch the ending like Mass Effect did.Comment

great game but very strange way to "end" the whole concept of the game.......3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment

You're entitled to your opinion.
Feel free to regale me with reasons as to why it is so amazing though. The funny thing about this game, more that some other big name titles I've noticed, is that so many people just exclaim how great it is but don't back it up with anything. On the other hand I've explained in detail as to why this game was so disappointing to me.
GTA4 is up there no doubt. Although it's hard to deny how awesome that game looked and played at the time, going from GTA SA to that.Last edited by Twigg4075; 06-18-2013, 04:44 PM.Comment
