Wondered if anyone else has encountered this before. Was playing a blu ray earlier and it froze up. It wouldn't allow me to skip to the next scene or anything. So I had to remove the movie and put it back but my ps3 wouldn't recognize the disc. And now it's not recognizing any of the games I try to play as well. Would restoring my ps3 to default settings help or anything?

That blows. Just out of curiosity, how long have you had it and what model?
I'm surprised I haven't had any problems (***knock on copious amounts of wood***). I play tons of games on it and it's my primary movie player.
The fact that they charge that much to fix it is complete bullshit. Half the price of the console? GTFO. $80 or so would seem more appropriate.Comment

Had it about 4 years. The old fat ones. Didn't have any problems until I started playing blu rays regularly.Comment

The launch consoles have backwards compatibility with the PS2 and command a premium on eBay or CL. Since I still have my PS2 if I want to play older games and never used the backwards compatibility on the PS3, I sold my 60GB fat model for enough to buy a 250GB slim and an extra dual shock controller.Comment
