EA has exceeded my expectations. Not only do did they add the Pistol formations, but they added the RNS concepts, too.
That Y route was the ultimate cheese route in the NE playbook from Madden 11.
Hopefully the DB AI in NCAA knows how to stop it, because there was NOTHING that could be called that could stop that route outside of direct user intervention. The route would be wide open either early or late depending on the D, but always would come wide open with huge YAC opportunity.

in NCAA the route is effective but can be easily stopped. Depends on your personal. A tall OLB hanging out there will jump and knock it down. While it will seem superhuman it stops it. Defense in NCAA is largely based on the ratings of your players. If you have a average defense you will get torched. Solid juniors and senior with some 5 star underclassmen and your defense will be stout. I learned that recently....having what I thought was a good defense in the beginning of my OD wasnt so good. Also there are some zone defensive plays that are completely worthless. Manually covering players with a quick MLB is really the most effective way to play...IMO.

I ran the RNS about 75% of the time last year and like jms said, that wheel route didn't come open nearly as much as it probably did in Madden (where passing was way too easy) It was effective, but not really overpowered. Man coverage does a decent job more than not and against zone the defender will make the occasional Superswat.

I'm more happy that the Quarter Normal is in the game. It makes defending that 5-wide four vertical cheese easier.
