There's nothing to lose from downloading a demo, but yes it is essentially the same game. From a gameplay and core mechanics perspectives there's not a significance difference. Take away the new tackle animations, which are good, and it's basically NCAA 11 with better graphics and presentation.

I found the passing game much harder, but the run game much easier. I dunno, maybe it's because I'm Alabama and used to passing to Julio

I guess the one joy of not playing football games (or being a hardcore football fan) is I don't see, or let all these bad things bother me. That will probably slowly die as I advance.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

          "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

I'll have to try some different teams, but I'm getting close to 200 yards passing with Oregon and few incompletes. I know their offense is lethal, but that much on 2min qtrs is ridiculous.

I hate to be that guy that dogs on EA Football around release time, but this game feels like a downgrade of NCAA 11.

When was the last time you played NCAA 11.

This feels like a slight upgrade to 11 to me. And the demo is usually much worse than the retail

CPU bitzes way too much, making the passing game too easy.
Still to many DL on their back.
Read Option is still pointless (and the CPU still can't use it)

There are some improvements to the zone D, not that the AI uses it enough.
I think blocking looks a little better, double teams are solid (not sure what steel mamba was seeing there).
                    New tackling is crisp.

Unfortunately, the retarded AI is going to ruin this game...again...until they decide to fix the AI playcalling instead of just adding new shit to it.

I played one game and said fuck it, same ol EA football.

                      Looks great? Yep.
                      Presenation great? Yep.
New collisions? Totally surprised me, they are great too.

Scoring 6 combined TD's in a 2min quarter 2nd half? Typical EA football.

That's what sliders are for. Hopefully a good set comes out soon after release, though.

That's what the boards always say.

"Do you have the retail copy? No."
                          "Sliders can fix anything"
"I heard the Demo was an Alpha build"

All those same old songs don't ever ring true when the game arrives. I'll see what Madden has to offer.

You can hate all you want. I like to look on the positive side of things.

And if you deny sliders make the game better, I'm not sure what to say. Don't get me wrong, it won't be perfect, but what game is?

I don't deny sliders improving the game. I do deny sliders ability to prevent the ease of scoring found in EA football games.

I don't want the game to be perfect, I want the game to be realistically challenging.

I guess I should be thankful I suck at video games. I get challenges on default All-American
