And yet people still complain about it.
My thing is, yes, you need a solid game core, but if they could spend that extra time getting things right, it would be better. It is just every year they build off what they have, and so far, they still can't seem to get things right. Always something missing, or wrong, or broken, and every year it is the same "typical EA" replies from the community. Maybe a new approach needs to happen, I don't know.
I'm a big hockey guy as some know. NHL went through this, and it is a better game today because of the process. NHL07 introduced the skill stick, NHL08 did some more with it, and then NHL09-11 was the start of the physics era of the game. They work in three year spans. So now they have a solid game core to go off, and will use that going forward. BUT people still find things to complain about, and this isn't done right, this is wrong. So even they get it, and they have probably one of the best sports games on the market.
Just as I said in the bottom paragraph, to me it is all in how you take your gaming. A couple years ago I'd be pissed, but now, I just don't see the point. It is a game at the end of the day, and yes, I'd like it to be as close as possible, but at the end of the day, it is still a game, and I still want to have fun. NHL isn't 100% sim style, and it doesn't bother me at all. It fills to hole in time I have to play, and I enjoy it. Just like I will this year with NCAA. It makes me kind of glad I'm not a hardcore football guy, because I think I'll miss a lot of the "issues" this game has, because I won't even notice them.
