Not gonna lie, I'm looking more towards NCAA Football 12 this year to be "the football game" for me again like it has been in the past. However, if Madden could just work on the fucking Franchise portion of the game (like legit work on it, not just make it all "pretty") I would be happy even if they didn't touch anything else.

Maybe they'll include a "Lockout" feature...

It is a dream job, so it's understandable why he wouldn't want to piss them off in a public forum.
Sadly, I'm too stupid or stubborn to follow the same philosophy.

As for your background in programming or designing ... it's really not that necessary.
The designers simply explain their ideas to computer nerds who play them out.

        .
Ahhh yes it is. A non programmer who is a designer for a video game is a nightmare.

I've been to two EA Sports community events, not sure how many you've been to, it's not that difficult - game designer tells nerd what he expects to see in the game, nerd executes the 1s and 0s.
I don't want a nerd whose never touched a football trying to build a football game - he needs some help.

The game has gone from a hardcore sports game to a Corporate commercial.
I feel the same way about current gen Madden with you. Year after year I would open my case expecting last-gen gameplay and last-gen franchise with current-gen graphics. What did I get? A big heap of shit. Madden 11 was the first year I haven't purchased Madden since I was in 4th grade and I am a Senior in college.

...? Have you actually played a game of Madden the last few years? Simming games would suck since franchise mode hasn't changed a lick, but when you actually play the games it's even more painful. It feels like you're playing Madden and NFL Blitz's lovechild. How poetic is it that the EA sold out to appeal to the masses when during a lockout the only people who would really buy the game are the fans they screwed over. You'd think they'd have casted those casual gamers to the side after they'd lost around 20% in sales this past year (I heard that somewhere didn't I?). Maybe they will?

All I know is that when they had the choice of appealing to the devout football fan versus the casual gamer, they chose the casuals almost every time. Let's just look at Gameflow or just the "sim" gameplay... Actually you know what, I'm not even sure if I was a casual fan that I'd like the gameplay... it just sucks. If they lose 50% to the lockout and then another 20% because it sucks, think there will even be a Madden 13? I think not.

NCAA can finally get the money put into it that it deserves! YE$$$$$$$$$$$

If anything I think the sales will be better just because NFL fans will be so starved for any NFL experience they can get.

But what the fuck do I know?

Congrats you've been to two events that have nothing to do with the communication between the designer and the programmer.

Its not as easy as saying, we want gang tackling this year so put that it in. They have to be pretty specific and almost explain things on a code level or even break out the dreaded flow chart.

This is why hiring from a forum could work as guys like adem who I assumed worked hard in custom rosters and did a lot of critiquing (not out right bitching like us) could be the right fit. Sadly though hiring based on them having a big interst in your product doesn't always work. (in my expierence anyways)

As for madden another year where I don't rush out and buy it new the first day its released. This is year 6 of me doing this now. Feels so long ago that I actually cared about the game.

                    Leafs offseason training!

With no NFLPA can Madden 12 even have player names in it?

They are licensed for this year I believe. I think more needs to be arranged for Madden 13 and beyond when it comes to players.

How great would it be if Madden acknowledged this possible dip in sales and pulled an NBA Elite. If they decided right now to either a) not release a game or b) release a shitty game as usual but one they themselves know is shit then they could scrap everything in favor of creating a better Madden 13. :2thumbs:

The biggest troll of all would be to scrap Madden 12, say they are just focusing on Madden 13, then release the same shit next year and watch the dollars roll in while all the madden drones pay to get their fix in.

I'm afraid we are going to have to wait for next-gen to get a quality madden, and that is still wishful thinking.
