    [PC] Team Fortress 2?

Probably going to get this for PC after I get back from Cabo. Does anyone play it, or recommend me another FPS on PC that might be better?

With PSN being down I can't play GT5 online, and I am trying to hold off on getting a 360 until Battlefield 3/Forza 4.

Just looking for something to hold me over since I have a little more time on my hands.

    I have TF2. Haven't played in a while, but it's a fun game.

I gave up playing it with all the shit they added since it seemed to turn it into a mini version of wow.

      Kind of sickened me.

What did they change exactly? I used to play and that game was awesome.

They got all this bs with better weapons and shit. Honestly I can't really explain it because it just put me off the game but when I seen myself getting just ripped to shreads by guys using level 3 guns with fancy names all the while running around with hats on and shit the game just lost it for me.

I dunno. Some people love it some people hate it.

lotta bullshit involving items and playing for a certain amount of hours to unlock this or that, then they fucked it up worse by basically throwing a tie in with their other games (I am an avid Monday Night Combat player ; they gave me hats in TF2 for it.) that made it even worse

TF2 evolved in a really unique way. its definitely a Black Licorice game. in other words, some people will love it, some people will hate it, but on the whole, it's a niche

Basically they gave you the ability to upgrade weapns. Like the sniper for example had a normal rifle before, then you could upgrade to a bow and arrow which is I guess better. All the characters got something added. They did it over time, rolling out one characters upgrade every couple weeks. It sucked because you would have an entire level of pyro's when people wanted to get those unlocks.

I miss the days of just straight TF2, you had one weapon and one melee weapon and that was it. It wasn't a serious game compared to other FPS, and the cartoonish look was enjoyable for a change. They should have just left it at that, but I'll assume people got bored and wanted new weapons to play with.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                  "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

The newer weapons aren't necessarily better. Valve did a good job of balancing them and the higher level weapons typically just have different abilities.

I played it a bit yestarday and there were a ton of noobs on. To be expected of course but it really hammerred down the fact to me that I seriously disliked the direction of upgraded guns and other abilities that if you're a first timer playing it you are going to get destroyed.

I know its a trend of most modern FPS's but I still hate it and wish another game model would emerge.

Although the game is totally free now and for people that have never played it on PC it would be a good time to just give it a chance if you got some free time. I don't think it requires much of a PC since its based of an upgraded source engine that most computers with a decent video card can play.

So now to get better stuff does it require microtransactions or are there unlockables through XP

I haven't played much in a while, but I believe you gain better items the more you play. You can also craft new items or trade them with other players. You can choose to buy stuff as well.
