    [360] Microsoft E3 2011 Discussion Thread (Press - 6/6)

Conference details, Monday, June 6 at 10AM PST/12PM CT/1 PM ET.

Mark your calendars -- do people still do that? -- for Monday, June 6 at 10AM PST, which is when Microsoft will kick off its E3 2011 press conference. Or should we say "tip off?" Like Sony, Microsoft is moving its Xbox 360 event to a sports arena this year. In this case it's the Galen Center, home of the USC Trojans.

Argh! The press conference will be happening less than a mile from my apartment, yet I'll be in South Carolina for a wedding. Lame.

I expect you to be disappointed then. They will be pushing Kinect hard at E3.

            I expect this too.

Any estimates on how much longer this "casual movement" in gaming is going to last?

Surely the sheep will find the next great thing soon and most games can get back to being what actual gamers want?

I'm shocked that it has lasted this long. I was hoping that the Wii's flameout game-wise would help things, but from the looks of it it hasn't. I think that it's time to shuffle the casual gamers off to the smart phones and be done with it.

Yeah I too am hoping the emergence of tablets and such will get people gone from the gaming scene. Everyone's just trying to cash in and this has easily been my most hated gaming era since I got into it as a little kid.

imagine if all the resources and funds poured into this crap went into AAA titles instead.

At the very least I bet that we'd have more than 5 dungeon wallpapers in DA2.

EA is the devil and Bioware is Judas. They've turned them against the greater good and this is only the beginning!

Right now, there's too much money to be made in the casual market to not attack it. The casual gaming bubble will burst, but I don't think we're in the clear yet.

I don't even know if I want to watch their press conference. It's just going to piss me off.

You know a Halo game is going to be announced for fall 2012.

Hopefully we hear about a Shadow Complex 2.

I'll post more as I think of them.
