Ok.
Rather than trying to dive back into a league, with a newly patched game, and a group of users that's not entirely familiar with each other....I feel a tournament would be the best place to start.
Lets do something small, complete it...and build on it. (MY goal is to run a couple small tournaments, and once the NHL brackets are set, we'll do a VSN NHL Playoff and maybe I'll bug Len to let me blog it on the front page!)
This is what we we'll be doing for now.
NHL Clubs only.
Olympic/Euro Cup style tournament. (4 -16 teams, must have even number of teams)
We'll be split into 2-4 groups, RR with 1 game per opponent and and top 2 advance per group to a single game playoff.
Nice. Simple. Short.
This thing will kick off when (or shortly after) the Patch drops for the Xbox 360, as this will be a 360 tournament. (Sorry I don't own NHL on PS3!)
Between now and then, we need to determine who is involved, and what team they will be.
If you want to play in this nice lil shindig, reply below and give me your team. originally was asking for top 5 but since almost everyone's #1 was different you all just have been given those teams, a couple guys have to settle for #2. boo fucking hoo, it's just a tourney
Once we've set the amount of users, i'll use a randomizer to pick a draft order and assign teams based on your choices below.
That way I don't have to hound you when it's your turn and things progress quick and smooth.
The due date to enter will be the day the patch drops, as that day will probably be the day teams are assigned and we kick this thing off. (4-8 days I'm guessing)
Invite other players if you can!
