The only issue coming is, the patch is going to ruin the game. Buddy of mine and leaf has a PS3 and has been playing with it, and the penalties are massively jacked up. To the point where it is just stupid now. Like if you hit someone without the puck (even after they just passed it) you're getting called for it. If you're in the corner and you hit them, called again. The way our buddy put it was "they turned it up from calling 5% to calling 95%".All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

Whatever, let's see how it is for ourselves before we start saying that it is going to ruin the game.
If that is the case then it will take some time to adjust. If it's really that bad, and I wouldn't rule it out because this is EA we are talking about, then that will suck but let's give it a shot.Comment

Yeah. It's just 3 games, it won't kill you to play.
Besides, I think I'd prefer a few too many penalties being called as opposed to so many being missed.
It's about time the 'race to the puck' didn't involve who is quick enough to check each other before you get there.Comment

Yeah, I played a bunch of games of the PS3 version post-patch and it's fine. If you're going to be a jackass and hit away from the puck or play the body instead of the puck going into corners and all that you will get whistled. Nothing wrong about it at all. I played around 10 games or so and got called for like 3 penalties, so whatever.Comment

Funny thing is, a few of us in the old MMHL had you down as one of those people who always hit people in a race for the puck. ;) j/k
That is fine though, I hope they call those, but just from what I've heard, if someone passes the puck, and you hit them just after, people are getting called for it. When it real hockey, that wouldn't be called at all. Same when the puck is in the corner, guys are hit all the time. So basically does this simply run
1) Play all in pool
2) top 2 in pool play each other
3) winner of that game "represents pool" in standard 1v4 2v3 with all pool winners
4) winners play each other. Losers for "bronze" lol
So if you go all the way, you can play 5 games total.
