That guy needs to get back to his rediculous madden bashing and complaining about being temp banned off OS for the 400th time.

I'm not nearly as giddy about the demo as most people seem to be. I've always felt Madden was a bit more refined in it's gameplay than NCAA. But, I feel like that's it having played this demo. Now, that's without touching what I'm really looking forward to, Franchise mode. If Franchise is all it's being cracked up to be, I can probably tolerate the game's shortcomings, on the field, and get quality playing time out of this game.Comment

I don't understand how EA is touting this "new and improved" blocking logic for the AI. Within my first two games I've noticed the AI doing the same stupid things they've been doing for years. For instance, my center hikes the ball and then turns around and faces my RB, then will quickly turn back around to find a legit assignment. But, by that point the defense already has the advantage.
That happens a lot, just as it has been, where various blockers don't know what to do so they'll make a random move which completely screws up the entire play.
But, that aside I'm actually impressed with the game. There are still too many broken tackles, the running game still feels very stagnant and predetermined, but overall you can tell that they actually wanted a simulation game this year.
This is the first Madden I've played that actually feels like a game of football. It's a step in the right direction for them and is easily better than any other football title they've ever produced (NCAA included)... and this is coming from someone who hasn't thrown props EA's way ever since 2k hit the scene and showed them how it's done.Comment

Before playing the game, I was leaning towards 360 because of the big gap between NCAA on the 360 and PS3. However, for Madden, it doesn't seem that big of a difference. I only played 1 game on each late tonight, so I will play more before deciding. Graphically, I think it looks the best ever (even with the bright colors), while some think it looks "cartoonish." I saw some lighting coming off the helmets in a weird way but I'm guessing this will be fixed, if not, not a deal breaker. I think it will be decent if it doesn't come out all buggy like NCAA....which I still like playing HB RTG. Just wish the AI late decision and clock mgmt was better executed.
Edit: I played the Xbox verison on a 50" Panasonic plasma, while the PS3 was on a 42" LG LCD. Tomorrow I will play both on the plasma.Comment

Graphically the game looks great (PS3 user btw), the field looks more realistic than it ever has and I even noticed players were getting scratches on their helmets which was a nice touch.

Yea, from an aesthetics standpoint the shit looks very good, especially the close ups on players after the plays. Players look massive and lifelike. What they need to add is mouthpieces though but thats some nit picky shit. I cant remember if Forte had his pacifier mouth piece or not but thats a big deal (on a lower scale) when trying to create authenticity. Eddie George had his on Madden 01 I think it was.

Played the demo last night. I really enjoyed it. Gameplay seems more organic than NCAA IMHO.Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008
