      Nope.

      Like killgod and CLW said it's impossible to believe they will deliver considering their track record. I'll pass on buying it until I hear from reliable people how good it is.

        It is never too early and yes it will deliver (for me anyway)

        I liked this years game a lot but everyone has different expectations, some WAYY higher than others.

          no you ignorant theif, i want it to be great, but judging by their past preformance, the odds are low. it is not impossible for EA to make a good game, just improbable.

            It depends on what you expect. If you're asking for THIS iteration to blow the pants off of 2k5 in every conceivable way, no. There will still be aspects where 2k5 is better. On balance, however, I think the 2010 game will be the better game. But then, I was never a big fan of the 2k5 style of play. No inertia... same reason I never switched to NextGen Madden until this year.

            I have been optimistic about 2010 since Ian and Phil took over, but my real excitement was toward Madden 2011 and 2012. Those were the ones where I thought those hires would pay off. I'm really surprised at the information we're receiving. I guess, when you really look at it, most of it isn't *that* big, but I was thinking we'd see a retooling of offensive lines and franchise mode this year, WR/DB stuff with some presentation next year, so on and so forth... they're really working toward a revolution here, it's amazing.

            Ian told me today he's got every blog from now to release planned... precisely what points he's going to cover in each one. Which tells me they've still got plenty more in the tank.

            Oh, and I think the OL/DL interaction is where the MOST work is being done, gameplay-wise... Ian is well aware that's where it needed the most work. I can't wait to see that blog.

              Well IMO it doesn't really matter. Pretty much the same amount of people is going to buy it either way it goes.

                Which is precisely the reason the game will never reach it's full potential.

                    Several games have come really close. Madden hasn't.

                            lol, nah I don't think it will. 2 titles later and they're just now putting in the same technology/features that 2k had back with APF. It's pitiful really. Maybe Madden will finally be just as good, but they're still a year away from being capable of surpassing it.

                              Don't we go through this every year?

                              07 came out, people where pissed, but 08 was going to be incredible, hype was up there, people were talking, videos online where mesmerizing, then the game came out, it was fun for a month, and then started to get like 07, the same thing happened in Madden 09, where it was pushed and pushed as the Greatest Football game that was ever going to come out, and lo and behold, it surely doesn't deliver.

                              Madden 09 was the first Madden I'd ever taken back and traded in, I couldn't stand the game, it just wasn't any fun to me.

                              2K was a great game and all but it had its flaws too, I just wish Madden would get some animations like 2K had.

                              take this for example, 2K had this in 2K5

                              [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTAFhphmTss"]YouTube - nfl 2k5 right stick juke[/ame]

                              now Madden doesn't have anything like that, and if you think about it, there is no real way to actually shake a defender in madden or NCAA other then chopping your feet or hitting the juke stick left or right, which just makes the guy hop. at least madden on the xbox and ps2 tried to get the studder step feel in there it still was shit compared to what 2K had there.

                              look at this, this is 2K's latest game, which was a total piece of shit in my opinion, but animation and player movement wise they still blew ANYTHING madden has, or even had, out of the fucking water.

                              [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je8QVuAfdWY&feature=related"]YouTube - APF 2k8 - Randall Cunningham QB Avoid[/ame]

                              at :4 you see something that you never see in Madden, even when 2K was doing something with Injuries, look at what they did here...

                              [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LODw6gJgqtk&feature=related"]YouTube - APF 2k8 realtime injury[/ame]

                              thats a real time injury, how many times do you see that in Madden?, want to know the sad thing, I saw that in NFL Gameday 2000 when I was a kid.

                              I'll leave my rant off with this...

                              now ignore the text in this video because its irrelevant to my statement, but watch the running of the punt returners in both games, and tell me which one is more realistic...

                              [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n27G-7-N6Jk&feature=related"]YouTube - ESPN NFL 2K5 (PS2) Vs Madden 09(XBox360) - Punt Returns[/ame]

                              If madden could get this shit straight, I'd be a happy man.

                                Remember this is the end to the David Ortiz era and the beginning of the Ian Cummings era.
