      Playbook #1: Sights & Sounds
Revel in the pageantry of college football game days with NCAA Football 13. Featuring new team run-outs, mascots and pre-game traditions along with significantly enhanced audio and new trophy presentations, NCAA Football 13 will deliver the passion and excitement of college football to fans across the nation.
Check back April 2 for further details, assets and insights from the development team.
Couldn't care less for mascots and team run-outs, but the enhanced audio and new trophy presentations should give more life to rivalry and championship games. Excited to see the rest of the details on this.

      Playbook #2: Gameplay
With a new passing system that changes the way quarterbacks and receivers play and respond, combined with a new read and react defensive AI system, NCAA Football 13 delivers greater realism on the virtual gridiron.
Check back April 17 for further details, assets and insights from the development team.
I like the sound of this. Hopefully this means a couple of things...Quarterbacks now have arc on the ball (instead of either bullet pass or lob), super LB are gone, physic DB's are non-existent, WRs attack the ball, CPU doesn't audible with your audibles (kinda ruins the point of even audibling), pre-snap alignments are corrected (LB on man coverage for the WR on the other side of the field). Maybe even added the Madden throw ratings (deep ball accuracy, medium, short, etc).

      Playbook #3: Dynasty
Game days come to life with mid-game updates featuring a new studio analyst, plus enhanced commentary from NCAA Football veterans Kirk Herbstreit and Brad Nessler. Recruiting now goes deeper than ever with the addition of dynamic grades and the ability to scout players. Plus, there are even more ways to interact with your Dynasty from the web.
Check back May 7 for further details, assets and insights from the development team.
Hoping here that the mid-game updates include a score ticker for other games going on. Another analyst I like, even if Nessler and Herbstreit are still in the game, but we're promised enhanced commentary. Scouting players sounds cool, but recruiting is tedious as it is. I'm assuming dynamic grades means that a recruits rating looks different for everybody, and maybe even a potential rating (would love to see some recruits be busts). Interested to see what all of this means and what they changed to Coaching Carousal and Custom Conferences.

      Playbook #4: Heisman Challenge
There are familiar faces on the field in NCAA Football 13, which now features a selection of former Heisman Trophy winners. With the new Heisman Challenge mode, fans have the ability to utilize the skill set of a legendary Heisman Trophy winner in a quest to match his award-winning historical performances and win the Heisman trophy once again.
Check back May 28 for further details, assets and insights from the development team.
Seems a lot like the mode from the NBA 2K basketball game. Not sure how much I will play it, but there could be a chance historic teams are in the game. Hmmm...

      Playbook #5: Road to Glory
The experience of being a college football superstar is now even more exciting with a new feature in Road to Glory that allows players to see and feel the game differently during key moments, increasing on-field awareness and creating amazing opportunities.
Check back June 11 for further details, assets and insights from the development team.
Why did they bring this game mode back? At least it's not the first updates to the game. This is the second game for the lead director of Road to Glory, so his vision for this mode should be coming to life in this game. Probably will not even touch it, though.

Didn't he? I haven't heard a peep from him in quite some time.

And that vision cone was horribly unpopular. No way that thing is ever coming back.

Doesn't mean it was a bad idea. It's time for it to come back in some respects. The idea KG laid out is tremendous IMO

His Twitter account is gone and so is his NCAA blog at the EA website. Last year at EA's corporate website there was a job posting for Executive Producer for a football title at their Orlando office. I'll see if I can relocate it.

The issue with the vision cone was purely the right analog. The concept was exactly what this game needed though, we all complain about 360 degree vision.

On Google's news feed there is an email he sent to The Gaming Tailgate on 2/24 saying the new kickoff rules were going to be in NCAA 13.

Maybe he wasn't fired but demoted?

Damn. I was hoping that fucker took a hike.

Here is the executive producer job posting I was talking about anways. The listing was listed as EA Sports - Orlando:

EA was founded over 25 years ago by individuals with a deep passion for making games. Many things have changed over the years as the gaming industry—and the company—has expanded immensely, but we are still driven by the same passion for developing, publishing, and distributing the world’s best games. Our history has been one of great success, and our future looks even brighter. Gaming has come a long way from Pac-Man & Space Invaders to modern EA Favourites like Burnout, Battlefield, Mercenaries, Dead Space, Spore, FIFA, Madden, Need for Speed and the world’s most successful game franchise, The Sims. Fuelled by our talented staff at locations right across the Globe we are united in our passion to continue shaping the future of interactive entertainment. Together we can make a difference.

An EA Executive Producer is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a game to a high creative standard. Producers oversee the whole lifecycle of the game from concept to launch. Their role is to ensure that Game Designers clearly define the game concept (i.e., its ‘X’ or the unique idea that makes it stand out from other games), and the market positioning of the game (including defining the target audience). The Producer must then ensure the game stays on target throughout the whole development process. Producers provide the link and liaise between the development studio and the marketing and sales departments. They work with marketing to ensure the maximisation of the game’s marketing and advertising strategy and budget. Producers also co-ordinate the release of screenshots and demo discs with the game's marketing manager, coordinate the outsourcing of audio, cutscenes, and language localization, and oversee focus tests on early versions of the game.

                    Role Overview

An EA Executive Producer provides the financial management, ultimate design vision, and communication with business clients (legal, finance, business affairs) of (usually) multiple titles. Key responsibilities include: responsible for directing the development of multiple products from concept to release and for providing and/or maintaining the creative vision of the products. Is accountable for meeting product's budget and profitability goals and for working closely with marketing staff to ensure effective distribution; at a senior-level, typically works on larger, more strategic or key products; serves as a technical and business resource to other Producers, assisting them in the resolution of complex problems or leading them on larger projects; reviews and evaluates product concepts and designs for acquisition; reviews and evaluates competitive products; establishes, maintains and enhances creative relationships with inside and outside developers; supports the strategic planning and budgeting processes for products, providing financial, technical and creative input to management; supports development efforts and keeps actual development on schedule; accountable for meeting production budgets, schedules and deadlines for product-related materials; coordinates resources throughout the company to ensure successful completion of the products; ensures that outside developers meet milestones and receive all necessary technical information; participates in planning marketing strategies for products and gives input into the development of marketing materials; maintain significant hands-on experience with all products under Executive Producer's control.

What skills does EA look for??

An EA Executive Producer is expected to possess a minimum of 7+ years experience as a Senior Producer, managing large internal teams within the video game industry (Software Engineers, Artists, Designers, Audio Specialists, Senior Project Managers, Associate Producers etc.); 7 + years experience developing and executing game project plans; 7+ years experience leading, motivating and driving teams to success; an ability to know what types of products will sell and what won't sell and be able to assess the feasibility of producing a new product; excellent written and verbal communication skills; successful track record in the development of high profile entertainment and software products; strong knowledge of the software/game market and platforms; assertive and motivated team player; strong technical background a plus.

Great post, all of that is exactly what i wanna see too.

I hated the passing cone in madden, and still dont like the tweaked idea. It still doesnt address the fundamental gameplay issues that you just mentioned.

I listened to the webcast and I was a bit impressed with their new audio improvements, but I found it hilarious at how they were just burying last year's game and laughing their asses off at it.

That's hilarious that they charged us $60 for that piece of shit and they joke about how broken it is. I'm sure they laughed all the way to the bank.
