Kevin Butler, Cole McGrath, Drake, Snake voice actors in Playstation All-Stars cast

The IMDB page for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale reveals some more all-stars appearing in the game as some form or another. Listed in the voice cast are Nolan North as Uncharted's Nathan Drake, David Hayter as Snake, Eric Ladin as Infamous's Cole McGrath, and ... Jerry Lambert as fictional executive Kevin Butler.

It's tempting to imagine Kevin Butler's in-game stint as the VP of Special Attacks, but these characters aren't necessarily playable. The game is full of cameos, like Captain Quark in the background of a Ratchet & Clank level. We're asking Sony to clarify this information. Kevin Butler would tell us, if he existed.

Oh man, Keven Butler? And Solid Snake? Drake and Cole are of course awesome as well. Sony is really pulling out all the stops for this shit. It doesn't sound like they're settling for bullshit characters like King Dede or Meta Knight like Nintendo has for Smash Bros.

Now if only they have the game on Vita too. They have to though, right?

I would think so. Maybe they'll announce that at E3 when they show off more of the game.

That's what I would think. If they are going to have a Vita version of Sly Cooper I can't see how they won't with this game.

My only issue is that if you spend $60 on the shit you should be able to get the Vita version for free. If they can do it with a $10 game like Pinball Arcade or MotorStorm RC there is no reason they can't do it with these bigger games. For the people that buy the physical copy there would be an online pass like code that would verify you own the game and let you download the Vita version. Or at the very least heavily discounted or packaged together. Didn't certain retailers, Gamestop maybe, offer a bundle of MLB The Show for $80? The wouldn't be too bad.

Rumor: PlayStation All-Stars coming to PS Vita, SCEA resume says

We'll be seeing more characters added to the PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale roster soon enough, and perhaps even see it heading to one additional platform. The LinkedIn profile of Robert Krekel – a sound designer at Sony Computer Entertainment America – suggests PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale may be coming to PlayStation Vita as well.

Krekel lists PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale as his current project, on both PlayStation 3 and Vita. We've inquired with Sony and will update if we hear more -- but as you might expect, this falls firmly in the "rumors and speculation" category.

Gonna be a day 1 buy for me. I loved ssb, liked ssbm, and am a fan of ssbb. This reminds me much more of the original.

I really do hope they can reach a cast of 12-16 though.

PlayStation All-Stars joined by Heihachi and Toro

The roster in Sony's mascot mashup, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, has grown by two more fighters. Heihachi Mishima from Namco Bandai's Tekken series, and Toro, cartoonish marketing feline for Sony Japan, have both been confirmed for launch (on October 23) by Sony during an EVO 2012 presentation.

In addition to the new characters, a new stage called Dojo has been revealed. Dojo (depicted above) is inspired by Chop Chop Master Onion's stomping/chopping grounds, as seen in Parappa the Rapper.

I hate in when games like this put in crapy characters that no one wants to use rather high quality players. Smash Bros does it, Marvel vs Capcom did way to much of it, im just hoping they dont leave out a ton of awesome characters for lesser known and silly characters for the sake of putting a ton of different game characters in here.

                                Announced at Comic-Con Today:

Today at Comic-Con, the SuperBot team led a lively discussion panel that gave attendees a sneak peek at the development of PlayStation All-Stars. Alongside our very own Chan Park and Omar Kendall, IGN.com’s Greg Miller joined us as a moderator to explore how the team created our super roster of PlayStation characters and environments for [...]

Initially debuting on PS2 in 2001, Naughty Dog’s Jak and Daxter series has seen critical acclaim and success, spawning multiple titles on PS2, PS3, and PSP. Fans have enjoyed Jak and Daxter’s signature style and varied gameplay, so we considered them prime candidates for our game. Jak and Daxter are beastly on the Battle Royale battlefield; they’ve definitely been my go-to pair lately here at the studio!

Players familiar with Jak and Daxter’s arsenal will immediately recognize some of the weaponry utilized in PlayStation All-Stars including the Blaster, Needle Lazer, Gyro Burster, and Mass Inverter. When the going gets tough, Jak has the ability to unleash the powers of both Dark and Light Jak to even the playing field, as seen in Jak II and Jak 3 respectively. Daxter even lends a hand in Jak’s melee attacks.

Representing the PlayStation franchise inFAMOUS from Sucker Punch Studios, Cole MacGrath proves to be an unlikely hero with extraordinary powers, so it made perfect sense to us for him to be in the ring alongside some of PlayStation’s heaviest hitters.

Cole takes advantage of a wide array of abilities in inFAMOUS, an experience we hoped to emulate when incorporating him into the game. He is a well-rounded fighter who is effective at both close and long range combat, and is highly mobile as well. Players can command both his electrokinesis and cryokinesis, using these powers to assault opponents from a safe distance or propel himself towards the action. With these abilities, Cole proves to be a formidable adversary for the rest of the PlayStation All-Stars cast!
