You can buy your way into the closed beta by pre-ordering. $20 gets you the basic game and access on the 31st. You can get in on the 15th by purchasing the $30 or $50 tier that includes in-game money and a server rental.

There will also be a public beta starting at an unspecified date.

The folks who pre-ordered an upper tier package got alpha access today. This video is probably going to get taken down, but I expect we'll start reading more impressions soon.

I'm not entirely convinced about this game. I haven't seen anything in the videos that has jumped out at me. I certainly don't like the idea of microtransactions.

I will say it looks more user-friendly than DayZ, but I'm definitely more excited for the DayZ standalone at the moment.

30 bucks...thats not bad. the give till the 20th for those prices. if its worth buying. Dayz mod seemed to wear off as quick as it came on

I still play DayZ at least once a week, and there are still a good amount of people playing. There seems to be a new map to try out every other week or so now as well.

I will say that the biggest problem with DayZ is that as soon as it caught fire a lot of script kiddies started appearing and griefing entire servers, and that drove a lot of people to either wait until the standalone or migrate to heavily monitored private servers. If the hacking isn't fixed in the standalone, the community will most certainly die out.

They copied portions of League of Legends' EULA and didn't bother to change the link directing the user to the LoL website (among other things). It's not a big deal, but they should have at least proof read their shit.
