Read about the ending.
Apparently people are upset about the violence for violence's sake.
SERIOUSLY. FUCKING SPOILERS.
Chico has his feet nailed to the bottom of a cage you find him in.
Paz has a bomb surgically placed in her guts that you see dug out in real-time.
Then, apparently there's a Snuke in her Sniz that explodes the chopper you're supposed to escape in.
Having not played this and only knowing of the characters via 3rd-hand info, I'm assuming this was supposed to illicit an angry response for those who played Peace Walker.
Instead, it comes off as unneeded when Kojima was quoted (paraphrasing here) as saying that he wants to put more emotion into his games.
That he wants to go beyond the norm like shows like Breaking Bad did to tell a story.
An odd comparison but I'm getting the feeling that he missed his mark with what he was trying to convey.Comment

Not having a full trophy set is bullshit. I can search for it but apparently Kojima had some bullshit excuse.
There were a few full retail Vita games that did the same thing. Lumines and Katamari come to mind.
Are trophies everything? Of course not. A lot of people don't give two shits. But just as many people do. So why piss off those people? How difficult is it to implement trophies? In this case maybe it would take some of the sting out of what a lot of people think is an overpriced demo. Give them a full trophy list and a platinum and it could increase the replayability exponentially.
Sometimes I just don't understand why such simple things are overlooked.
Didn't MS just decide to go with 1000 gamerscore for EVERY game or am I remembering wrong? No matter if it's a $10 downloadable or a $60 retail game you get 1000. For instance, this game on XBOne? 1000 points.
I'd obviously rather have what is supposed to be the superior version of the game, so that's why I went PS4. Let;s just have some consistency here.Comment

Bolts were put through both his Achilles tendons, and although it's a pretty fucked up thing to do, it makes sense when you consider that he (and the other prisoners) can't escape from this black site because of them. It's a place where people are brought to be tortured and interrogated. Fucked up shit is bound to be happening there.
However, there's a cassette tape collectible that you can find that has even more disturbing audio on it, and I bet it'll get a ton more criticism when more people find out about it.Comment

I only got to play this for about 20 minutes yesteray. It seems pretty cool and definitely difficult, as most MG games are. I thik it looks really good but honestly it looks like the Unreal engine. Is that what they used? Everything is so shiny. In the very beginning when the two dogs are barking behind the fence they look like they're made of plastic.Comment

I think it looks fantastic.
And no, it's the Fox EngineComment

Finished up Ground Zeroes. Love the openness to it and the Fox Engine is by far the best looking thing I've seen so far (on my own console) on new-gen. We'll see if that still holds true tomorrow when I bring home inFamous. I'm sure I'll go back and replay it numerous times, but my body is officially ready for The Phantom Pain.
In a way I'm kind of glad we're still looking at at least 2015 for TPP b/c I'd like to run through at least MGS 1-4 and PW again before it drops.Last edited by Swarley; 03-21-2014, 12:07 AM.Comment

When I finished up the main mission it unlocked 4 side-ops, then it looked like there was still one more that was locked.Comment

I haven't done those yet as they unlocked after I finished the main mission. I'll come back and do those after I play inFamous. The main mission took me about 1:45, although I didn't rush at all. I looked around spotting everyone and looking for multiple routes to where I needed to go. I'm also a huge perfectionist when it comes to these type of games, so anytime I was spotted or something I restarted the checkpoint.

I'm definitley like you with these games. I only played for about ten minutes the other day and was trying to take my time. But I got spotted and then just started lighting everyone up to see how the shooting mechanics are. But when I go back I'm definitely starting over.Comment

You have to S-rank the Ground Zeroes mission to unlock the Deja Vu op (which isn't very hard), and (I think) you have to S-rank that to unlock another op and the MGS1 Snake skin.Comment

I am honestly surprised most of you guys bought this "game". I don't really like developers putting out 30-90 mins demos for $20-$30. This is some Gran Turismo Prologue type bullshit here. I am a fan of Forza and I won't bow to their $50 Season pass.
I honestly think the release of this game is BS. I could just see casual Joe seeing a new MGS game on the rack for his new PS4, buying it and bringing it home to be done with it in 60 mins. Tell me he wont be disappointed.Comment

I redbox'd it because I'm not spending more than $10-15 for what I still feel is a glorified demo. That being said, I had fun with it, and it does a good job at creating some excitement for The Phantom Pain.Comment
