EA To Discuss Next-Gen Need for Speed, Star Wars Plans at E3
“The wait is over.”

Following up on today’s Xbox One announcement, EA has provided the first details about its next-gen plans, including news that a next-gen version of Need for Speed and the first concrete information about its Star Wars licensing deal will be shown at E3.
In a blog post titled “The Wait is Over” on EA’s official site, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau referenced the various EA titles announced for Xbox One today -- NBA Live 14, FIFA 14, UFC, Madden NFL 25 and Battlefield 4 -- and also confirmed that EA’s E3 briefing on June 10th “will be a showcase of next-generation games like Battlefield 4, Need For Speed, a full range of EA Sports games and a first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney.”
“This is a big day – the first time in over a year that an EA developer can answer a question without starting: Sorry, I’m under NDA and can’t provide any detail,” Gibeau wrote. “Today Microsoft has unveiled Xbox One and we can finally say: the next generation of hardware is incredible and the proof is in the details – the games and development engines that will breathe life into these systems.”
Earlier this month, EA revealed that a new Need for Speed was coming, confirming rumors that stemmed from a job listing back in 2012.
EA acquired the exclusive license to develop and publish Star Wars games in early May along with news that Battlefield developer DICE and Dead Space developer Visceral are working on new games using EA's Frostbite 3 engine and Star Wars: The Old Republic developer BioWare will continue to work within the franchise. Since then, the publisher has confirmed that none of its Star Wars games will be released before April 2014.
EA’s press conference -- titled “The Download: EA 2013 Preview” -- will take place Monday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific.
Mirror's Edge 2 help center found on EA's website. At this point I think we can bank on seeing this game at E3. There's been some speculation that this could end up being an Xbone exclusive, although I'm not sure how much is behind that rumor.
I've been wanting that for SOOO long (and not Criterion developed either), but sadly we wont be getting anything close. They'll be showing off NFS: Rivals, which from everything I've read looks like a slightly more in depth NFS: Hot Pursuit.
OT - Nice to see you back roaming around the Arcade man. I have started doing a top 50 favorite games list in your honor (it will probably swell to 100).
Speaking of, do you think you'll ever go back to your Heroes and Villains list?
