NCAA 14 DEMO IMPRESSIONS

Why would it take more than 9 hours?

Many "professional" game reviews are done with less time with the game.

If you're someone who's played the series regularly, you can make an assessment of the next version's gameplay pretty quickly. You know exactly what things you're looking for, both minor and major. It's not hard to find out what you need to make a statement about it.

Read option is a lot less effective and the read is more realistic. Hope you can turn off the giant "R" and "P" pre-snap indicators though.

I've always valued Playmakers and Skillz opinion on NCAA. Used to love the threads to discuss how players rating are incorporated into the game with play guides.

I'm excited for NCAA now.


Playmakers. Have you checked out the Dynasty Editor they came up with for Madden and NCAA. It's awesome. I know Skillz has messed around with it.

I've read about it but had no need for it because I skipped out on NCAA 12 and 13 after just one week of play with both games LOL! NCAA 14 feels like the best game to date by EA it now surpasses my two all time favorites NCAA 06 & 11. I will admit it's not perfect and I'm not crazy about the graphics as I feel NCAA 11 still represents the best looking game out of the two. But having said that I'm into the actual gameplay more than anything else don't care about socks, dreads and sneakers and uni's like most of the kids over at OS used to go crazy about and make priority #1 in the game.

The demo has allowed me to see the gameplay has been a huge focus by EA and the things that bothered me the last two releases (CPU Option Offense, CPU Runner Awareness, CPU Offensive Play calling and Zone Coverages) have all seemed to have taken a step up from demo.

I will also say that the Sliders have a major IMPACT on gameplay again as I tested them out for about 3-4 games just to see if they actually worked again this year and I can safely say this game can be modified to play any style you desire high scoring outcomes or defensive battles…..

The QB Accuarcy Slider is damn near perfect this year if you want to see errant throws by the CPU and Human QB…..at default I think both sides are way too accurate for college QB’s but hey atleast we can now fix that issue even without editing QB’s accuarcy ratings.

The tackle slider has a huge IMPACT on triggering more animations once you lower it down….for some reason EA tends to not open up all the animations until you start messing with the gameplay sliders. One thing that I haven’t seen yet so far is the WR battling for the ball in the air but I have my ideas on how this could be fixed once the retail version drops.

There is so much to like about this year in terms of gameplay but at the same time I’ll be cautious because I know EA has a history of releasing patches and tuners that can screw up things down the road.

I don't even have to play the demo to know that I might get a month...MAYBE two, of insanely frustrated gameplay combined with waiting for good rosters to come out before I get bored or frustrated enough to stop playing video games until NBA2K comes out...of which, I'll enjoy for two months before I get bored again and not play video games until NCAA comes out again.

So, I think I'm just going to skip the formalities and not get NCAA.

I don't know man....NCAA 14 based on demo seems like a good game you could get about 4-6 months of quality time before shelving it. My biggest fear is that once Madden drops for the XBOX One the graphics and player movement in NCAA 14 might feel and look out dated right away.
