This has probably been asked here before, but who wants to use the search function? Not this guy.
Between having the afternoon off and spending it with a couple of friends screaming at Spelunky, and talking about Super Time Force, the question came up "What is the most difficult game that you've ever beaten"?
Difficulty can be somewhat relative, so it doesn't have to be something that is popularly known for being insanely difficult or anything (although in most cases it likely will be). Feel free to include any game modes or restrictions you put on yourself or a playthrough (probably more likely with older games).
Personally, as cliché as it is, I'd say beating DOOM on UltraViolent is my own personal Everest, and I'll likely never get there again on something (unless I actually manage to 100% Super Meat Boy on 360 someday -- which won't happen without likely destroying my house in the process).
