This is nice, but i was still confused by some of these rules, so i did some of my own research and now understand some of these rules better. Below are some links to help you understand these transaction rules that are new to the show
Dont be confused by part 6 as that is not something in the show, but i included it just in case you want to read it. These parts all are very good because they explain it like your an idiot, which is what i needed, and they use real players as examples to help you understand.
Salary Arbitration 101
MLB Transactions Part Two: The 40-Man Roster and Option Years
MLB Transactions Part Three: Waivers and DFA
MLB Transactions Part Four: Salary Arbitration Wrapup and ML Service Time
MLB Transactions Part Five: Trades and Contract Tenders
MLB Transactions Part Six: The Rule 4 Draft
MLB Transactions Part Seven: The Rule 5 Draft
MLB Transactions Part Eight: Free Agency
For baseball purists, one of the biggest additions to MLB 09: The Show has been the inclusion of authentic professional transactions within the franchise mode. No longer are virtual owners stuck with the limited options of trades and free agency -- now the full spectrum of rosters moves are available to budding Billy Beanes.
However, within this new framework there is a slight problem. Since video games have ignored realistic roster handling for a long time (outside of Acclaim’s All-Star Baseball), many users do not know what all of the new moves mean. The developers of The Show have tried to help by including a handbook on the disc, but for those interested in reading a less "textbook" approach, here is a primer for getting a grip on your roster.
