There's really only two spots to find good energy weapons as far as I was able to see.

    The Silver Rush in Freeside
    Hidden Valley (BoS's "secret" base)

And it makes sense anyway, because in FO3, you had the Enclave and Brotherhood all over the place, so there was plenty of energy weapons around.

Out in the Mojave/Vegas, it's pretty much NCR's reign, and they run with traditional weapons. There's really no Brotherhood presence at all.

Total play time for my save was like 47 or 48 hours.

I found out that for all the curbstomping I've been doing to miscellaneous Raiders and Powder Gangers, it doesn't mean shit when I'm face to face with...

Deathclaws near the Sloan Rock Quarry.

I didn't even see the "Younger Deathclaw" until half of my health was gone and ED-E was "unconscious."

All I could think of was how shitty my bullets were (I had armor piercers and Hollow Points but didn't think about it until my character's head was halfway across the map) and how much worse my Energy Weapons score was.

I'm not even at Novac yet and I can already tell that I need to start killing EVERYTHING to get ready for my trip into New Vegas

              I found something worse...

Right around the area of the NCRCF Prison, you might have the opportunity to acquire the "Black Mountain" Radio Frequency.

Aside from some bitchin' country tunes, you're treated to a broadcast helmed by two Super Mutants/Nightkin... one goes by the name Tabitha.

If you've read any previews for this game, then you know how batshit insane this particular Super Mutant is; if not, just think "The Incredible Hulk" but purple and wearing a wig and dress.

I've met this particular purple giant and "she" was extremely happy to introduce herself and her Super Sledge to my face.

Luckily, I've managed to have ED-E along for the ride as well as the newly recruited Raul the Ghoul with me.

A couple of Incinerator shots (best weapon I've gotten so far) and some Turbo used later and I'm about to loot the rest of Tabitha's stuff before returning to score me some Brotherhood of Steel Power Armor at the bottom of the hill.

              And I just hit Level 10. :D

As to who my new companion is:

Raul the Ghoul is a former mechanic who was imprisoned by Tabitha in exchange for his life and fix-it know-how... he's also voiced by:

Gonna get on and try and beat the main story. Someone who's beat it tell me how far I got left:

I got Yes Man upgraded and in control of all security bots. And made my choices about all the factions.

Got lost in the story on my first playthrough so I decided to start a new one and concentrate on exploring more before even going to New Vegas. Scott Pilgrim on the prowl.

shit, just drink water. use the sinks in bathrooms or whatever water source u can find. or fast travel back to good springs source. there are like 3 clean water sources there

dont u have your canteen? i have one and my guy just sips on it on his own
Go to silver rush do the van graff guard shit, after your shift the guard goes inside just sneak over open the case and bam perfect laser rifle and plasma rifle 100 rounds and a set of armor, its like free money...

Wild wasteland just adds a couple things to the game like an alien ship, Holy hand grenades (monty python and fo2), an old lady gang and makes a couple of the ordinary things a bit weirder all in all you wont notice much difference but if its your second playthrough you might as well get it...

Tip of the day : if your going to take vegas for yourself go to h&h tools and get the lucky 38 vip keycard, haven't figured out what its for yet but its gotta be for something... Also, you can walk up the backside of black mountain and its alot easier than just coming up the road, think i had to fight maybe two mutants to take the whole mountain when i came in from behind...

                              McCarran and Las Vegas Strip

Select the first option, "McCarran and Las Vegas Strip", exit the mainframe, take the stairs up and follow your compass to outside. Once outside, go down the spiral stairs and activate the Reflector Control Panel and enjoy the show. After your screen turns normal, go back to Fantastic and listen how he tells you he's going to take most of the credit. This will get you 350 XP and New California Republic reputation. When you exit helios one a NCR personel will give you a emergency two way radio to gain support from the NCR when needed.

                              Fremont and Westside

Select the second option, "Fremont and Westside", as your grid configuration, go outside and activate the Reflector Control Panel to enjoy the show. When you have seen enough, return to Ignacio Rivas to be congratulated on your well made choice. He will tell that hopefully NCR's curiosity in the plant has been satisfied and they won't dig any deeper. You will gain 350 XP, 3 Stimpaks, 2 Doctor's Bags and a moderate amount of Followers of the Apocalypse reputation.
                              Full region
(See Bugs Below) Select the third option, "Full region", as your grid configuration, go outside and activate the Reflector Control Panel to enjoy the show. When you have seen enough, return to Ignacio Rivas to be congratulated on your very admirable choice. He will tell that hopefully NCR's curiosity in the plant has been satisfied and they won't dig any deeper. You will gain 1 Big Book of Science, 350 XP, 3 Stimpaks, 2 Doctor's Bags and A LOT OF Followers of the Apocalypse reputation (this will get you to the status of Accepted if you haven't had a previous encounter with them).
                              Archimedes II

Select the fourth option, "Archimedes II", as your grid configuration. A new menu item called "Arm ARCHIMEDES II Plant Defense System" will appear. Here you have 2 options. Both will grant 350 XP and you will be able to use Euclid's C-Finder as a laser designator for an orbital strike.

                              * If you choose to arm the plant defense system, an alarm will sound warning personnel to get inside. Go outside and activate the Reflector Control Panel to enjoy the show. When you have seen enough, return to Ignacio Rivas. Ignacio won't interact with you and Fantastic will yell at you for killing his employers. You will lose reputation points with the NCR and you will not receive any rewards from Ignacio. But you can be rewarded with spoils of war. After all nearby NCR troops are decimated by ARCHIMEDES, loot their bodies for many Service Rifles, Combat Knives, as well as NCR armor.
                              * Alternatively, you can choose not to arm the plant defense system and only receive 2 Stimpaks from Ignacio.

                              Full region (Emergency output level)

Select the fifth option, "Full region (Emergency output level)" as your grid configuration, go outside and activate the Reflector Control Panel to enjoy the show. When you have seen enough, return to Ignacio Rivas who will be disappointed of all the energy wasted, but he will be relieved as the plant can not be used as a weapon anymore. You will gain 350 XP, 3 Stimpaks, 2 Doctor's Bags and Followers of the Apocalypse reputation. However, you will also lose some NCR reputation.

Id have to with full region regular or maybe fire that bitch off just for shits a giggles... gonna do that meow actually

An easy way to do it is come up the back side, go straight into the storage room and fix the robot, when you leave she will be happy with you and walk away, then you just blast here in the back of the head and its over or there is a burned out building with a radio in it with a high speech skill you just activate the radio and do the option that look like a super mutant says it and they all start fighting against each other...no xp there though

I ended up choosing the full region (3rd option) and got the stuff mentioned. The first time though I chose the 4th option (activate arch) and Ignacio did still speak to me and I didn’t lose any rep for doing it. Im glad I didn’t choose the 1st option because I already received the 2 way radio….but I cant figure out how to use it. Its in my misc section of inventory and doesn’t have an option for use…..

Do I need to hotkey this thing?
