On the Black Mountain area:

 

An easy way to do it is come up the back side, go straight into the storage room and fix the robot, when you leave she will be happy with you and walk away, then you just blast here in the back of the head and its over or there is a burned out building with a radio in it with a high speech skill you just activate the radio and do the option that look like a super mutant says it and they all start fighting against each other...no xp there though

 

I just basically put 2 and 2 together when I saw the giant radar dishes that this was where the Super Mutant/Nightkin radio frequency was coming from.

Based on said assumption, I wanted to simply waltz in there and loot the place but was promptly shelled by Super Mutants until ED-E and I dropped all off the ones initially outside.

After that, I got Raul, was attacked by Tabitha and proceeded to loot the place...

Fixed Tabitha's robot AFTER THE FACT and it attacked me... had to put him down after I thought I could get a Mr.Handy Robot as a companion.

I was disappointed.

Ok, now I'm fucking pissed. I went to Cottonwood Cove a while ago, and the Legion attacked me. Me and Rex tore up the place killing everyone. Turns out I killed the Fort escort. Now I can't get the Platinum Chip without getting face raped by 1000 Legionnaires. Why would you program that into the fucking game?

So, I kinda lost my one companion. I started a particular mission that I apparently had to do alone and he's gone. I'd kinda like him back... Anyone know if you lose them, they're gone for good?

Not, not killed. Not as far as I'm aware. I went into a building for a mission and he apparently couldn't follow. He wasn't waiting outside when I came back out.

Go back to wherever you got them at, they should be there if they are considered to be fired.

this game is pretty cool. I found a laser rifle. pissed me off cause i was in the area 2 days ago and i didnt check a certain spot. Went back to gather some loot i left in a house and decided to recon that area and there it was sitting next to a dead guy that i didnt kill.

then i went to one of the shops and the guy wa selling a plasma rifle. The laser rifle is great cause i have a scope and some other mod that adds damage. the scope allows me to get critical sneak attack strikes from long range.

i also ranked up to level 10, then within 5 mins i ranked up to level 11. not sure why i got so many points that fast

Sometimes they will warp to your suite in Lucky 38. You can actually tell them to wait for you there through the dialogue tree if you want to pick up another companion.

Maynard, the level cap is 30, I think. I'm at level 17 now...I love this game.

BTW, I've read that the game ends like FO:3. Meaning when you're done, you can't keep going. So stay away from the ending for as long as you can....or at least until the DLC comes out, like Broken Steel.

The PC version of FO3 had a mod you could download from Nexus that would allow playing after the ending (before the DLC's came out). Hoping for the same thing with New Vegas PC.

Two missions from the end, chose to go wit the 'House' this time. Going to start a Hardcore game next and not fuck any thing up, i.e. killing the courier to Caesar.

Yeah, I'm on my second playthrough now. Going to go with the Legion this time as well.

Right now I'm pretty much just going around killing everything that breathes. Problem is, I killed like every doctor in the wasteland that I've come across as well, either intentionally or unintentionally, so trying to get rid of his addiction I have to Hydra, and healing my crippled self is well, a bitch.

I'd almost bet that if you couldn't get it on nexus that someone in the modding community would make a mod to let you keep playing...

Started play through #2, after switching to the House quest after I killed Lucullus, I'm going through as a Sneak/Guns/Lockpick character in the vein of Clint Eastwood. My neutral form of justice will reign throughout the Mojave.

As a side note, anyone know where I can get a duster, or a poncho? I already have a Desperado hat.
