Just pre-ordered UC2 in order to get access to the GameStop exclusive multiplayer demo, and exclusive in-game Revenge Attribute, which will be available to download and play from 09/15/2009 to 09/29/2009....and then opens up to the public on PSN 9/30/09.

The Revenge Attribute is an unlockable booster in the multiplayer campaign. This bonus allows you to unlock the “Revenge” booster right from the start of your multiplayer campaign.

Not so much to actually play online but just to get online and see what the UC2 scenery is like. Not much of an online player, except this year may become one for this and Modern Warfare.

I'm not much of a multiplayer guy either but the Uncharted beta was damn fun. I hate games that tack on some bullshit multiplayer mode and I figured this game would be the same. I was extremely surprised. I was a bit concerned that development on the multiplayer would detract from the singleplayer but everything I've read/heard has said that is not the case at all. Most people are saying it is the most impressive game they have seen this generation.

the online play is great for Uncharted 2. Im not a fan of team deathmatch but the other mode they had I forgot the name but you have to capture the treasure was the funnest Ive had all year so far.

I think it's called Plunder and it is damn fun.

Users report Firmware 3.0 causing Uncharted freezes

Despite the shimmery new effects in the backgrounds, PS3 firmware 3.0 isn't an entirely calming, lovely experience for some users. Several posters on the Playstation.com forums report that, since the update, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune freezes at regular intervals. One user said every 20-30 minutes, and poor nufy8 "can't even play for more than a minute without it locking up."

We're contacting Naughty Dog to determine whether this is a known issue and to get an ETA on a fix, but in the meantime, considering that most of us have probably updated by now, our only advice is to find something else to play -- or make a game out of the freezing. Try to time it so that Nathan is in a funny pose!

I have already downloaded 3.0....gonna see if it freezes on me as well.

If you are a regular player of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune then you should hold off upgrading to the latest PS3 firmware (3.0). Several posts have appeared on the PlayStation forums saying the game freezes regularly during play after the console firmware has been updated.

The questions also started being asked on the GameFAQ forums with the problem clearly related to the firmware and Uncharted specifically. Here’s what GameFAQ user wingzero2099 had to say:

Just got this [Uncharted] today and i played up to the u-boat just fine, then had to leave for a few hours, i came back and installed the new update, and now i can only play a few minutes before it freezes, i just parachuted onto the island, is this likely a problem with the disc, caused by the firmware, or what? i dont think its my ps3, i’ve only had it a month and it was brand new, and so far only Uncharted is having this problem.

Sony and developer Naughty Dog have yet to confirm or respond about the issue, but no doubt we will hear something soon. Depending on what is causing the game to freeze it may take a few hours or days to come up with a fix.

Haven't got to the point they say it freezes....have to stop for an online game.

Hope this doesn't carry over to UNC2!

Lol, here is where UNC froze for me.............Drake just started to raise a "slab" door.

I never got to the point of parachuting on the island!


Like I said, hope this doesn't affect UNC2.....and glad I backed up my PS3 Slim HDD. I have yet to download firmware 3.0 of the first PS3.

At least, it looks like SCEA is aware of the issues above.

On today's Playstation blog, they stated:

New info on the public multiplayer demo. Gonna have 2 more maps than the closed beta. It is gonna have the cinema mode active and whoever preorders the game will have the demo a week early exclusively starting next week all the way until the final game is released

The freezing issue from what I've read is only active when you leave the game's "autosave" feature on.

It's a quick fix to just switch it off and play from there (and even then, I can't guarantee it'll work) but why leave a game to gather dust?

Sony just released firmware 3.01 to fix the freezing issue.

It's an optional update, and you won't be prompted to download it, so you need to update yourself. While it isn't quite clear what the full extent of the 3.01 is, it appears it does fix the Uncharted freezing issues.

Got the email code from Gamestop yesterday for the Uncharted 2 "early" demo....but at last check the download is still not available.

The Uncharted 2 Gamestop "exclusive early" demo just went live for download...downloading as I speak...at 5% still 26 minutes left...lol...big 1272 MB.
