Mine was shipped today. I had it pre-ordered, and they shipped out today from New Castle, DE. I will have it tomorrow.

I pre-ordered Gears of War 2 through Amazon and was worried I wouldn't get it on release day just like you are... but it was in my mailbox on day 1.

I had a release day guarantee though - not sure they do that for all games but I thought they did.

Of course I had it pre-ordered (how else would I have ordered it?) but I chose Super Saver shipping. I think they deliberately take their sweet ass time shipping SS orders out hoping that you will choose Express shipping the next time.

Earlier I was listening to the Giant Bomb podcast from last week. Those guys could not stop fawning over the game.

I also finally saw the Uncharted 2 commercial and laughed my ass off. "I'll just file that under Not An Issue."

I get the game tomorrow but am on STRICT orders from my girlfriend that I can't start the campaign until she gets home. AND she has to work late tomorrow. I'm off at noon and she's not done working until 9pm. Terrible news.

Aside from the obvious notion that you'll be opening the game to do this...

1. Start new profile on system
2. Download game
3. Play game
4. Delete game and secondary profile from system before GF gets home
5. ??????
6. Profit!!!11

...almost a fool-proof plan.

You have got to be a homo-nerd to have that as an issue. If I had a chick, watching me play a video game the entire day, in her short shorts, and tank top and she is happy at the same time...thats fucking nirvana for me.

I mean, think about it, you don't have to go far when you gotta take that 5 min break every 3 hours of game play ;)
