Who Let The Dawgs Out? UGA Wins 37-24!
Branden Smith celebrates after taking the kickoff to the house!
At this point, should we really be suprised? I mean really? Like we have never heard it before... UGA is the underdog, on the road, inexperienced. Everytime we come out looking dumber and dumber. Richt and his team thrive when in the underdog role. Boise State in 2005, Auburn in 2006, Oklahoma State and Hawaii in 2007. Every time, the Dawgs come out and not only win, but win in dominating fashion. This game was not any different.
Richt has the same plan in every road game: get up early and then run the ball as much as possible. It has lead to the best road record in college football in his tenure. Georgia did just that in the season opener when they scored on just the second play of the game. After a great punt by Butler that stranded the Cowboys at the 2 yard line, Sanders Commings blitzed from the nickel corner spot to sack Zac Robinson in the endzone. Then on the first play of the drive, Caleb King took a halfback screen to the house. Oklahoma State answered right back though as Robinson hooked up with Anyiam for a 71 yard touchdown pass.
The Cowboys continued to battle back as Kendell Hunter ran the ball in for Six on a toss play. Georgia planned to run the ball to end the half but with 1:15 left, Gent recovered a Georgia fumble and took it to the house. The Cowboys were suddenly back in it with a score of 23-21 at the half.
The Bulldogs scored with three minutes left in the quarter on a 8 yard run by Richard Samuel. However Oklahoma State drove down the field on the following drive for a 29 yard field goal to make the scored 30 to 24. Then, the game-changing play of the game happened. Impact true freshman Branden Smith returned the kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. Georgia used stifling defense and a dominant running game to hold the Pokes scoreless in the fourth and escape Stillwater with a victory.

South Carolina Gamecocks At Georgia Bulldogs
-------------------------(1-0)==----------------------------(1-0)
Rece Davis: My favorite game this week has got to be South Carolina at Georgia. Who you got guys?
Lee Corso: South Carolina. Georgia. Steve Spurrier. Oh baby I am pumped! I definately gotta go with the Dawgs here. Did you see them last week?! Their quarterback was nearly perfect, Caleb King was running around and through that defense. I couldn't believe it! South Carolina looked good last week but they just can't match up with the Dawgs. I am taking Georgia baby!
Kirk Herbstreit: Well Lee, I am gonna differ. South Carolina has the X-factor in this game: Steve Spurrier. He has been a thorn in Georgia's side for over a decade and he always plays them close. In 2007, the Gamecocks upset Georgia after they demolished Oklahoma State. Plus, they are traveling back from Oklahoma which can be draining mentally and physically on a team. I gotta go with Spurrier and the Gamecocks.

Georgia Holds Off Late Comeback!
AJ Green was big in Georgia's victory with three touchdowns!
This was a typical SEC game. A typical South Carolina/Georgia game. Hard hits, big plays, close games. I love it! This game didn't dissapoint as Georgia had to hold off a furious comeback by the Cocks. The Dawgs started off great striking first with a two yard slant pass to AJ Green with two minutes left in the first. Both defenses dominated the first half until Georgia drove down for a field goal right before the half to go up two scores.
Georgia didn't lose focus in the third quarter and Cox led the Bulldogs to another great drive that ended with a nine yard connection to AJ Green. South Carolina didn't give up and stormed down the field for their first score of the day. Georgia wanted to clinch the game so with three minutes left in the game, Logan Gray found Green for a 35 yard touchdown. The score was 24-7 with three minutes left in the game. Game over... or so everyone thought but Carolina made things interesting. They scored three plays into the drive and recovered the insuing onside kick. They drove down the field for another touchdown, the score was now 24-21. The stadium was breathless. The Dawgs lead had vanished so quickly. Luckily, Dawg fans could breathe a sigh of relief as they recovered the onside kick.
