Bulluck, Sproles Commit to New England

Bulluck, Sproles Commit to New England

Keith Bulluck is one of the newest Patriots.

The New England Patriots, who finished 11-5 last season, just got a whole lot scarier.

The Patriots have signed arguably the two best available free-agents this season in linebacker Keith Bulluck and running back Darren Sproles. Bulluck agreed to a two-year deal worth $33.37M while Sproles agreed to a five-year deal worth $26.84M.

This gives New England a solidified running game, something that they've never really had, and a true leader on defense.

LB Leon Williams Agrees to 1-Year Deal

Leon Williams will back up Stewart Bradley.

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed middle linebacker Leon Williams to a one-year deal worth an estimated $1.14M.

With the start of the NFL preseason just days away, the Eagles still did not have the required amount of middle linebackers oon their roster. Williams will back up Stewart Bradley.

Eagles Host Redskins to Kick Off New Season

Eagles Host Redskins to Kick Off New Season

Clinton Portis is now Washinton's only offensive threat.

After losing quarterback Jason Campbell and wide receiver Santana Moss in the off-season, it appears that the Washington Redskins have gotten worse.

Kyle Orton will be taking snaps behind center, and the ferocious Eagles defense is probably the last thing he wants to see. For a time that took a step back skill-wise, the reigning champions are an unfair matchup for game one.

The Eagles should dominate this division matchup and start off the year with a victory.

                            Recap:

The reigning Super Bowl champions played their first game of the season, opening the year up at home. They proved that they deserved the championship by dominating the football game throughout.

Newly acquired Redskins quarterback Kyle Orton played well in his debut despite throwing an interception that was taken back for a touchdown by Quintin Mikell. However, Philadelphia's run defense was phenomonal, holding Washington's star running back Clinton Portis to just 21 yards on ten carries.

The Birds dominated their opener and will look to do the same next week when another division rival, the Dallas Cowboys, visit Philadelphia.
