Eagles Prepare to Host 0-1 Cowboys

Eagles Prepare to Host 0-1 Cowboys

Tony Romo's quick release could pose as a problem to Philadelphia's young linebacker corps.

The Dallas Cowboys, who had a disappointing season last year, started slow again with a week one loss at the hands of the New York Giants.

This week the Cowboys will be traveling to play another division rival, the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles are widely regarded as the league's best team with the return of Brian Westbrook and key defensive acquisitions. The only real player added to Dallas in the off-season was former Falcons wide receiver Michael Jenkins.

The bottom line is that Dallas is not talented enough to compete with the Eagles, especially with an injured Marion Barber. The Eagles should take this game in blowout fashion.

Eagles Traveling to Jacksonville to Face 2-1 Jags

Eagles Traveling to Jacksonville to Face 2-1 Jags

Maurice Jones-Drew has averaged 5.2 yards per carry so far this year.

The 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles, returning from their bye week, will be traveling down to Florida to face off against the 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars, who are coming off of a loss against the New York Giants.

However the Jaguars didn't only lose the game in New York, they lost their starting quarterback. David Garrard sustained a broken wrist and will be forced to miss six weeks. This means that rookie Brad Wakefield of Wisconsin University will be getting the start. Wakefield impressed in week three against New York, throwing 22-34 for 161 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

If the Eagles take the rookie Wakefield lightly, he could surprise them. However if Philadelphia comes ready to play, their blitz schemes should overwhelm the youngster.

Eagles Barely Escape Jags Thanks to Fourth Quarter Comeback

Eagles Barely Escape Jags Thanks to Fourth Quarter Comeback

                        (2-0) - 17 @ 13 - (2-1)

                        Recap:

The 2-0 Philadelphia returned from their bye week to play their first away game of the young season. The 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars hosted the Birds, with rookie quarterback Brad Wakefield getting the start in place of the injured David Garrard.

Wakefield held his own against the strong Eagles defense, despite throwing two interceptions. With the help of Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jaguars eventually took a 13-10 lead in the fourth quarter.

However, for the first time since the Super Bowl, Donovan McNabb put his team on his back and led them on a fourth quarter comeback, connecting with sophomore receiver Jeremy Maclin for a 36-yard touchdown that would eventually win the game.

The Eagles will take their perfect 3-0 record back home to Pennsylvania to host the 1-2 Houston Texans next weekend.

                              Talented Texans Squad Visits Philadelphia

                              Talented Texans Squad Visits Philadelphia

Andre Johnson has established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the league.

The 1-3 Houston Texans will be traveling to Pennsylvania to play against the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles, who are 3-0 on the year.

The Texans have quarterback Matt Schaub, who is coming off of the best game of his career, a game that earned him player of the week honors. Helping Schaub on offense will be weapons such as running back Steve Slaton, wide receivers Andre Johnson and Jacoby Jones, and tight end Owen Daniels.

The Texans also have elite pass rushers Mario Williams and Amobi Okoye, and a shutdown corner Dunta Robinson. Houston obviously has enough talent to surprise the strong Eagles squad, but home field advantage and experience puts the odds in Philadelphia's favor.
