Nash Disassembles Wolves D, Suns Send Wolves To Heartwrenching 2 Point Loss

    Starting Lineups:
    Ramon Sessions PG Steve Nash
    Damien Wilkins SG Jason Richardson
    Corey Brewer SF Grant Hill
    Kevin Love PF Amare Stoudemire
    Al Jefferson C Robin Lopez

    (1-1) 114 @ 116 (1-1)

Steve Nash fell just 2 points and 1 assist shy of a 20/20 game in the Suns win over the Wolves Sunday night.

    Player Of The Game:

    Steve Nash

    Quote Of The Game:
"We did a lot of good things, and we did a lot of poor things. We had way too many turnovers, and we forced the action too much, but I'm asking these players to expand their games. They're doing things they've never done, and that will lead to turnovers. Our guys played hard. Can't ask for much more than that." - Wolves Head Coach Kurt Rambis

You like Wilkins? I loved him in a sim league on 2k9.

Nice start so far, losing to some tough teams. Grant Hill beasted against you.

If that game had gone another way, people would be talking about Sessions double/double.

And Jonny Flynn's continued production. Another very efficient near double-double.

heartbreaker, tough loss. I think you could actually get the wolves to the playoffs this year if you keep playing the way you are. Sessions and Flynn are both playing great

Nash did his thing as expected, but frigging Grant Hill had to be a major thorn in your side that game....I bet he was the recipient of most of Nash's dimes

I love how Flynn's playing for you so far

He didn't perform too well in my 1st two games and I was ready to shake up the lineup if his production continued to be shitty in this last game but he played well so I'm going to keep him in. People want me to start Ellington and what not but he isn't exactly scoring in bunches when given the opportunity either.

Interesting to say the least. I wouldn't even consider the Suns one of the "big boys" in the West. I just couldn't keep up with their offense. All the turnovers I committed didn't help either. Got sucked into playing at their tempo and it hurt me.

Sean Williams: A Good Fit For The Timberwolves?

Wolves GM David Kahn expressed his desire to acquire a defensive minded big to play behind Kevin Love at a press conference held by the team before the start of the season.

The team's 116-114 loss to the Suns lastnight only solidified the fact that Kahn's desire is more of a need.

Amare Stoudemire torched the Wolves for 17 points and 17 rebounds, most of which came when he was being guarded by Ryan Gomes who currently sees a majority of his backup minutes playing the backup 4.

The team needs help defensively, there is no denying the fact and an athletic shot-blocker to come off the bench would go a long way toward helping.

Sean Williams of the New Jersey Nets supplies this need.

Williams, the troubled former BC product, is the shot blocking presense that Kahn covets. However, his attitude has apparently caused him to sit in Nets head coach Lawrence Frank’s doghouse, as his minutes this season have been extremely limited. (Williams played 0 minutes against the Wolves in their season opener vs. the Nets) For all intents and purposes, he appears to be done with the Nets.

Attitude is something that the Wolves want nothing to do with but Williams can finish in transition as well as keep possessions alive with his active offensive rebounding ability.

He doesn't really need the ball on offense either but has shown he can get up and down the floor with the best of them and would fit in well with Kurt Rambis' run and gun system now being employed in Minnesota.

His potential and athleticism, along with his defensive prowess, would fit a huge need for the Wolves.

The Wolves are ranked amongst the league's worst in blocks per game right now and knowing Kahn's desire to have someone defend the hoop, Williams would be an ideal fit.

All he has to do is make the call.
