Rambis Set To Shake Up Wolves Rotation, Flynn To Find Himself In Starting Role

The Wolves have lost 4 of their last 5 and Kurt Rambis has decided it's time to change things up a bit.

After an impressive 29 and 10 performance againt the Blazers on Saturday night, Rambis has decided it is time for Flynn to show his stuff as a member of the starting lineup.

"Jonny's been great so far for us," Rambis explained to reporters at the Wolves practice facility. "He's ready." Flynn's first career start will come Monday, when the team travels to the Staples Center to take on the Clippers.

Damien Wilkins, who has performed well enough to be a solid member of the Wolves rotation will be relocated to the bench. However, with the Wolves wanting to avoid stunting Wayne Ellington's growth, it's tough to see where Wilkins will get his minutes. Especially with the much better shooter, Jarvis Hayes, now on the roster after a trade earlier in the week.

Sergio Rodriguez, who was also acquired earlier in the week, is expected to see a majority of the minutes behind Flynn. Sean Williams will also see increased play time with the roster shake-up.

It all fits in to the Wolves attempt to find "diamonds in the rough." Young talent that could blossom into solid players in the Wolves rotation for years to come.

Here is what the Wolves rotation looks like after the changes:

        PG Jonny Flynn, Sergio Rodriguez
SG Ramon Sessions, Wayne Ellington, Damien Wilkins
SF Corey Brewer, Jarvis Hayes, Sasha Pavlovic
        PF Kevin Love, Sean Williams
        C Al Jefferson, Ryan Hollins

We aren't the best team in the league, we aren't in a position to underestimate any team. We have got to have that killer instinct and put teams away in situations like this." - Al Jefferson

"We were down by 1 with about 10 seconds left before Coach called a timeout. He subbed in Jarvis and Damien to give us some more range out there for the final play. The play was originally drawn up for Jarvis to get the ball but they read it. Time was running out. I had no choice. I got it up but Chauncey hit my arm on the shot.. We had been getting calls going our way all night and luckily for us, he got called for the contact on that one as well. Knocked em all down to put us up 2 and give us the win. Biggest free throws of my career so far baby, and I got em to fall." - Jonny Flynn
