Trade Winds Calm For Love/Wolves, For Now

Rumors surrounding the Wolves sending Kevin Love heading to Memphis in an effort for the Wolves to move up in the 2009 NBA Draft ran rampant this summer.

Since then, the rumors have died down but they may be beginning to brew once again as the 2009-10 trade deadline nears.

Sources close to the Wolves have reported that the Grizzlies have revisited acquiring Love, offering bigman Marc Gasol and a 2010 1st round draft pick for the Wolves double-double machine.

It wouldn't be an easy decision for the Timberwolves for obvious reasons, but Love was former Wolves GM Kevin Mchale's pet project. Love has emerged into a solid player though. It's easy to see why the Grizzlies would want him.

The Grizzlies don't seem to be sure about whether Marc Gasol is a four or a five. His defensive abilities make him a five, but he has more offensive ability than that of your typical center.

Wolves GM David Kahn was not available for comment but did mention that a deal sending Love to Memphis is "unlikely at this point."

However, with Love and Al Jefferson playing basically the same position, Kahn has acknowledged that the Wolves might have to trade one eventually.

With the month of February and the trade deadline just around the corner, trade winds surrounding the Wolves, and potentially Love, may be beginning to pick up.

Doesn't really address/fill my biggest hole at the 2 though which I'm hoping to upgrade at the deadline.

They offered it to me in the game. The pick has a potential to be lottery, but still not sold on it.

So let me get this straight. The team that raped the wolves out of Mayo for Love, wants Love back? el oh el

        1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
        1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

The Grizzlies theme this season should be : "This Season, We're Doing It For The Lulz"

Yeah, there was rumors that Love could be heading back to Memphis for the #2 pick for Rubio. Obviously, Rubio's stock fell and he managed to be there at #5 so Love stayed pat.

In game, they offered me Gasol and a 1st. :atom: Not interested though.

Not going to do anything impulsively. I know the offer is there. Still got some time before the deadline hits. Don't worry. ;)

That game sucked. My team looked winded out there. Got absolutely killed on the break and on the glass. When was the last time Larry Hughes posted 20+ in a game or even shot over 50% from the field in one?
