Peerman Rushes for Almost 200, Defense Looks Strong

      14 23

Seattle 2-0? If you were to be told before the season started that the Seattle Seahawks would take the NFC West by storm and take down the two NFC East Giants, would you believe? Well, it's best you start believing in this young Seattle team who brings the old fashioned smash mouth football style to each contest. Cedric Peerman "smashed" his way into the endzone in the first quarter, going the 2 yards for a score. Olindo Mare added a 49 yarder in the second quarter to go up 10-0. Just when you thought the Seahawks were playing out of their minds, they mounted one more impressive drive in the first half taking it the length of the field before Sam Bradford hit John Carlson for a 7 yard score. A Miles Austin TD with 22 seconds before the half made it 17-7 at halftime.

Olindo Mare was the only score in the third quarter, this time nailing a 35 yard field goal. Malcom Floyd caught a beautiful 29 yard TD pass to answer in the 4th quarter, going right over the middle in between two defenders to make the grab and scoot into the end zone. Another Olindo Mare field goal late made it a two score game, and Dallas was left with far too little time to make a relevant comeback.

The Seahawks have already taken down the first two competitors in their tough 3 game start to the season, can they make it a third? The Seahawks will host the Baltimore Ravens who are 1-1. The Seahawks are 2-0.
                Baltimore Players to Watch
The most impressive thing Baltimore boasts is an extremely solid offensive line which will bode well against a tough Seattle front 7. This is a good sign for Ray Rice, who will look to gash the Seahawks for substantial gains each time he touches the football. On defense, Ray Lewis still commands respect in the middle of the field and Haloti Ngata is a dominant force on the defensive line. The Ravens have four good CB's, so moving the ball may be a problem for the opposing offense.

                Seattle Seahawks Players to Watch

This will be the ultimate test for Sam Bradford. Any defense that throws Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Haloti Ngata at you will be coming for you early and often. He will need to get Nate Burleson and Deon Butler involved as well as making sure Cedric Peerman gets his handoffs. On defense Terrence Cody, Lawrence Jackson, and Johnny Jolly will need to hold their position and take on the double teams allowing the linebackers to move freely.
                Prediction
                Seattle Seahawks 24
                Baltimore Ravens 21

                  Bradford Struggles, Magic Runs Out

                  20 13

Seattle Sam Bradford, meet second half adjustments. The book is starting to write itself on Bradford who was flustered under pressure which was applied in waves in the second half. The Seahawks came out strong again today, opening up the scoring. Jacquizz Rodgers caught a swing pass from Sam Bradford and motored his 5'7 self down the sideline into the endzone from 55 yards out. It was 7-0 exiting the first quarter. Scoring in the second quarter picked up though, as Olindo Mare knocked home a 39 yarder to make it 10-0. However, Baltimore stormed back when Joe Flacco hit Ray Rice down the sideline uncovered for a 42 yard TD. Hunter Lawrence hit a 47 yard field goal to tie it up before half.

The third quarter was again relatively unenventful. Olindo Mare was the only scoring as he hit a 50 yard field goal this time. Going into the 4th quarter it was 13-10 Seattle. Baltimore completely won the 4th quarter unfortunately, scoring 10 points and holding Seattle to nothing. Hunter Lawrence tied it up with 7:19 left to play after making a 36 yard field goal. Later in the quarter, Sam Bradford was strip sacked at his own 35 yard line. The Ravens were able to recover and make quick work of the short field, capping off the short drive with a 5 yard TD pass to Michael Jenkins. Sam Bradford was not able to mount a comeback, and the Ravens went on to win the game.

Tough loss to the Ravens man. Bradford has looked decent, a few growing pains for sure but hopefully he will improve. Peerman has been looking good as well. Definitely a big turn around from last season. Good luck in your next game!

You have the Eagles logo instead of Ravens.

Chicago travels to Seattle to take on the 2-1 Seahawks. Chicago is 1-2 on the early season.
                          Chicago Players to Watch
Chicago's offense runs through Matt Forte and he will be the man to watch today. If Forte doesn't get going then the offense will have to rely on Jay Cutler to produce, which can be a scary thought. Cutler does have a nice group of young receivers headed by Earl Bennett and Johnny Knox as well as Greg Olsen and Devin Hester. On defense Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs are still running the show, having to do almost everything as the defense gets older and weaker.

                          Seattle Seahawks Players to Watch

Cedric Peerman has played well recently and needs to continue the trend here. Going 3-1 to start the first quarter of the season is huge but without Peerman the Seahawks can't rely on Sam Bradford to do all the work. John Carlson will also have to get involved today. The Bears don't have great safety play so Sam Bradford will have to find the mismatch on this defense. Defensively, Terrence Cody will play a huge part in stopping the run today. Stop the run, you beat the Bears.

Costly Bradford INT Leads to Loss

                            20 17

Seattle The growing pains continue as Sam Bradford learns you can't make every throw just relying on your arm in the NFL. With 44 seconds left and the score tied 17-17 Bradford tried to hit Nate Burleson in one on one coverage only to see his pass sail just over the outstretched fingers of Burleson into the palms of Charles Tillman. But first, we must fill you in with how we got there. The Seahawks got on the board first when Jacquizz Rodgers took a swing pass from Sam Bradford 23 yards for the TD. Matt Forte answered in a big way in the 2nd quarter, breaking into the open field and taking a toss 77 yards for a score. Olindo Mare pitched in at the end of the quarter to make it 10-7.

The Bears offense started to pick it up in the second half. Jay Cutler led a drive that ate up a lot of 3rd quarter clock and hit Devin Hester from 6 yards out to go up 14-10. Cutler took over the second half moving the ball predominantly though the air. Sam Bradford had fight left in him however, relying on a good mix of run and pass to get down the field before he hit John Carlson for a 7 yard TD. After trading punts, Chicago got down to the 34 yard line. A 10 yard holding penalty followed by a sack took them out of field goal position and gave the 'Hawks the ball. Bradford moved up to his own 45 yardline, but threw the costly INT to Tillman. Cutler was able to put Robbie Gould in position to nail a 52 yarder just as time expired to give them the victory.
