[PS4] Defense Wins Championships week 5... Dion Rising (UTC Re-post)

    Pre-Game

Thursday night football featured a streaking Browns team taking on the struggling Buffalo Bills. In recent weeks, the Cleveland defense has been on fire, carrying the offense through three consecutive wins. We all knew the Browns defense would show up for the game, the question was would the offense start to mesh and show some life.
    Kick-Off!

It was announced shortly before kick-off that star Bills star running back, C.J. Spiller would be inactive. This would be a huge loss for the Bills as the Browns could focus on stopping power running from Fred Jackson and not worry as much about the outside running/receiving threat from Spiller. The Browns seemed intent on ending the career of rookie Quarterback E.J. Manuel in this game right from the start. Manuel was harassed from the opening kick and hit hard on nearly every play. Our Dawg Pound defense has already set an NFL recoed for sacks through 4 games with 37 and appeared to be looking to break the 50 mark by the end of this game.

Bills quarterback Manuel couldn’t get anything going all game as he threw three interception, fumbled once, was sacked 3 times, and hurried on every pass thrown. Add to that a completionpercentage of 33% and multiple failed read-options and it ends with the worst game in the young QB’s career. Buffalo’s defense forced several turnovers and recorded multiple sacks in the game against the struggling Browns offense, though it wasn’t enough to off-set their own mistakes.
Cleveland was able to move the ball offensively in the second half and pull away. Running back Dion Lewis got the call after halftime and carried the load for the Browns. He racked up 98 and 2 touchdowns on 20 carriesand added 4 catches for 24 yards and 2 more scores. As a whole, the Browns offense struggled again but still a better performance than we have seen thus far.
Final Score: Browns 34, Bills 16
