Loved Band of Brothers. Glad they're doing this. The Pacific theater is often less remembered than the European campaign. It was very violent.

Band of Brothers was based off the book "Generation Kill" - I wonder which book led to this mini-series.

              No it wasn't.

              From wiki:

Generation Kill is a 2004 book written by Rolling Stone journalist Evan Wright chronicling his experience as an embedded reporter with the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion‎ of the United States Marine Corps during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. His account of life with the Marines was originally published as a three-part series in Rolling Stone in the fall of 2003. "The Killer Elite", the first of these articles, went on to win a National Magazine Award for Excellence in Reporting in 2004.[1]

Band of Brothers is a WWII epic.

You are correct sir, HBO did have a mini series based off this book & upon further research; that mini series was named "Generation Kill" as well. Nonetheless - FML

no shit, thats what every movie/tv show tries to do to pull in more viewers.
Thats because Band of Brothers is the greatest mini-series of all time.

If this is anywhere near as good as BoB, then this is going to be fucking fantastic. Band of Brothers was the greatest mini-series of all time so Tom Hanks and Stephen Spielberg have a lot to live up to with this installment.

Except it isn't a mini-series. And even if it was, its best episode couldn't touch Band of Brothers worst episode.
