Anyone notice in the final scene before they cut to Widmore's submarine, as they zoomed out, Ben was wearing white on one side and Alpert was wearing black on the other side?

Could be significant, could be really insignificant. But with the whole theme of white/black, I'm guessing it has some meaning.

So did they get off the island before the bomb went off? Which would mean that Sayid never shot young Ben?
If the plane never crashed Sayid never comes to the island and thus he never goes back and ends up shooting little Ben in the 70's.

Also when you think about back in season 5 during the time the "Leftbehinders" kept time skipping Sawyer was the one that really started the whole time line sec-section.

What I mean is this, back then when Sawyer and Locke were time skipping they go to a well where the orchid was going to be built. After Locke goes down the well they skip in time. Sawyer, Daniel, Miles and Juliet end up in a time way before the well was even built. Since Sawyer was holding onto the rope Locke was on the rope goes back in time with him. The go way back in time when the well wasn't there, so now its just a rope in the Gounod. After that Sawyer lets go of the rope and they do the final shift to the 70's. The rope in the ground was left behind, which probably some one found and end up digging deep enough to find the donkey will. This started the whole magnetic anomaly. If the rope didn't exist now one would have found the wheel or the magnetic anomaly, which probably ended up sinking the island.

          Anyone follow?

Also, when is Desmond gonna show up?
I hope they leave Desmond alone... I mean really they rapped up his story line last season. IMO hes just a supporting character in flash sideways now like Charlie, Artz and Boone. He's not leaving Penny and baby Charlie to go back to the island. If he shows up it'll be in the Parallel universe.

I think I understand, you're saying that since Sawyer was holding onto the rope when Locke 'time-traveled' that's the reason for the on-island time traveling?

You're right. He was on the plane next to Jack.

However, since Desmond is my favorite character, I WANT MOAR.

Desmond rocks. I hope he shows up and teams up with the Jacob's team (Jack, Ben, Sun and co.).

The magnetic anomaly would have never been found. If Sawyer never held onto that rope it wouldn't be there. Meaning nobody would have found the wheel or even known about it. The Orchid and the swan would have never been built. Meaning the incident would have never happened, Oceanic would have never crashed.

Ya that's what I'm saying, Desmond and the island story is over. Eloise even told him, "the only great thing he'll ever do in life is push that button." If he never went to the island he probably has a pretty average life.

He'll probably show up in someones Flash Sideways for an episode or two, but that it.

Doubt he has any major roll to play in the Jacob vs. MIB thing.

DON'T READ UNLESS YOU LIVE ON THE EAST COAST AND/OR HAVE SEEN THE NEW EPISODE ALREADY

I love the Sawyer/Widmore team up. 49 minutes into the show and it's legit as of 10 seconds after they shook hands. As much as I hated Widmore throughout the show, I'd rather "root" for him over fake Locke.
