    Favorite Heroes?

Let's face it, sometimes heroes are well.......unsung heroes. They're usually not as cool and hip as bad guys, especially if they're not in a action movie and literally saving lives.

    My top 3

    Terry Malloy "On the Waterfront"

One of my favorites because how he handles the situations he gets into, not at all like the stereotypical bad boy-good guys. Also as I said in the CB, I like how the ending is something that could've only been made at that time. In todays movies he would've been shot dead and left sleeping under the docks.

Jefferson Smith in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"

The ultimate "Fight the Power" movie....well at least out of the ones I've seen....which isn't many. Every man should see the filibuster scene. I prefer that 10x over Attich Finch's courtroom scene in To Kill a Mockingbird.

    C.C. Baxter in The Apartment

The ultimate good guy, except he doesn't finish last. Inadvertently steps into a mess, and accidentally saves the day. My favorite character ever.

I rarely watch any action movies, so there are a ton action heroes missing from my pool:noidea:

Well I was going to say your first 2, but I'll throw some others in the ring:

    1. Atticus Finch-While I agree that the filibuster scene is 10 times better than his speech in the courtroom, Atticus' character intrigues me way more with the father element. Being a god-like figure to Scout and Jem, dealing with the town's racism, and teaching his children about life, Attiucs is the consummate great dad in what is a timeless classic of a movie and novel.

    2. Rooster Cogburn-The lovable drunk is probably one of Wayne's most badass roles. Who could forget "Fill your hands you sonofabitch!"

    3. Captain Miller- Former English teacher back in the states who is thrown into the largest conflict the world had ever seen. An incredibly brave and capable leader, fights for his soldiers' safety, and to just see his wife again. Can't get much more noble than that.

Makes sense but I'm biased for 2 reasons. I'm a huge James Stewart fan, I was actually gonna include his character from It's a Wonderful Life but I didn't want to put 2 of his films. Also I'm not a big fan of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Last time I said that, I got E-stoned in public.
