Benji was great. Is it a bad sign that R. Kelly and Jesse Jackson annoyed/angered me more than the dude that actually shot Benji?

Also, FWIW the events of that day likely lay somewhere in the middle of both descriptions of what happened.

The Benji story was phenominal. If things went down as they did (from the guy that pulled the trigger) I could see Benji getting heated. Everybody was always protecting him and he never got out that aggression anywhere else than the court. his girl was acting out, he had a new baby, and the stress was probably ridiculous for a 17 yo. just fucked up that the situation went down like that - almost like fate. he (Benji) could've went with his teammates, the gunman could've been over at Simeon trying to get the $10 back, or so much else. wrong place wrong time bad outcome.
Oh - his mom was one of the strongest people EVER!!

As someone who lives in Chicago it was good to see those dudes straight up say Jessie Jackson was trying to prop himself up in the wake of Benji's death.
