I loved watching Ozzie Smith and grew up watching him as well.......there isn't any other place to put Smith. I'll always remember Ripken as a short stop first and foremost.

When I first started getting into card collecting...the worst feeling in the world is going and getting your favorite players card when you opened a pack of cards, only to Beckett price it out and it wasn't listed so you got the "common" price of $0.25.

or

getting that super awesome insert or serial number'd card or refractor or something, and its a scrub.

"OH YES!!! Got a refractor!"

"I see the shine!!"

*goes through the top of the card deck slowly, revealing common after common*

*gets to refractor*

"DELINO DESHIELDS?!?!"

1:250 packs to get a fuckin Delino Deshields...

When I was a young kid, I remember getting an assload of Ken Singleton and Willie Randolph cards. They were on nearly every card...regular card, team leader card, future stars card, all-star card, etc.

This was the greatest hologram card ever...
