    Cardinals:
David Freese (post-season showed what he was capable of, just has to stay healthy)
Jaime Garcia (puts it together on the road this year along with his usual success at home)
Eduardo Sanchez (in AAA right now, I expect him back in the Cards' pen by May/June and establish himself as an electric 7th/8th inning guy)

    Rest of League:
    Brennan Boesch
Kendrys Morales (can this count since he's been hurt?)
    Jesus Montero

I'm not expecting pastornicky or the fat 3rd basemen we got from the reds to do much

8 and 2/3 innings in his first start. That is way more than I expected. Hopefully Jeff can keep strong the rest of the season.

I see Boesch is the hip guy to pick this year, hope that works out.

Lucas Duda is a nice choice if nobody has said him yet. The Mets lineup is not going to be all that bad it seems.

or maybe the Braves pitching is going to be that bad.

Beachy can't be a break out candidate since he, you know, led all MLB starters in K/9 last season.

BRB let me go tab Josh Hamilton as a break out candidate ...

I'm going to go with Jordan Zimmermann. He has great stuff. He's 100% back from Tommy John surgery. I think this year he will show he's one of the best number 2 starters in all of baseball.
Good call, you possibly even undersold.

Throughout the league, I'm expecting Brett Lawrie to rake.

                            And Ackley.

                            Colby Rasmus
                            Jason Kipnis
Eh... 2 out of 3 I guess? Kipnis has slowed a bit but he had a huge first half and is a good power/speed guy. Rasmus has 20 homers for the Las Vegas 5-- err, Toronto Blue Jays.

                            Pitchers:
                            Mike Minor
                            Juan Nicasio
                            Brandon Morrow

Morrow was pitching really well until getting hurt but the other two are pure jonesy material.

                            Zimmermann is another good choice.
Would have said this had you not, so I'll take credit.

FFF has been a great bench piece so far. Slugging .480, ISO of .222 with 8 HR in ~160 PA. I'll take that for a generic low-ceiling quad-A right hander.

                            Oh and finally ...

You're right, it's even more absurd as originally written, because it allows for the remote possibility that Dee Gordon could ever become an "on-base machine" ... Saying he'd be awesome if he stopped sucking at the one thing he really sucks at is akin to saying "Miguel Cabrera could become a 30-30 guy some day if he would lose 100 lbs. and stop running so damn slow."
