One of the few things Jose Canseco used his head for was turning what should have been an out into a home run.
Now, the hat he wore when that infamous fly ball that bounced off his head and over the fence for a homer is going up for auction.
On May 26, 1993, in a game against the Cleveland Indians, Canseco was playing for the Texas Rangers when Indians infielder Carlos Martinez hit a deep fly ball to the warning track. Canseco went back to catch it but he reportedly lost the ball in the sun and the rest was history.
Heritage Auctions is selling the hat, also autographed by Canseco, and it is expected to go for $800-$1,200.
